Homeless group plans to take stand tonight over sleeping in city parking garage The have taken over a city garage. This is getting really bad. The vagrants have bpd buffaloed due to mayor kruzan's lib rubber spine. He has the police neutered to the point people are talking about asking Gov. Pence to use ISP or even national guard. More vagrants are arriving here everyday it is crazy.

When you send out a national invitation they will come. Let them all get in the structure and Nuke it...........................

I am so tired of dealing with these folks. They are getting pushy and arrogant.
My son had issues at the corner gas station with one of the "Regulars" asking for money. Hard to get angry when you are on candid camera.

Of course they are not going to nuke them but really, they are taking over public and private property. Are you OK with that. They destroy everything they touch. They crap where ever they want.

Yes, we "Had" more options but most of the states closed the mental institutions and poor farms in cost savings and budget cuts. They turned these folks out on the streets.
I used to live very close the the Central state institution when they closed it down. We were just renting at the time but we had to move. They were breaking into my garage and squatting. Sleeping in the dog house and rifling my trash. Bothering the wife and kids. Sleeping on my porch.
Yes, there used to be options. Now there are not.

No no NO.. for those under siege in Bloomington,, you must think bigger..
I suggest you guys get together an pool up as much cash as you can.
you will need
to make signs
a couple of the pop up awnings (paint free cell phones on all sides)
several Styrofoam coolers
some ice,
lots of really cheap beer (the more the better..)
a few bags of chips and other what not CHEAP snacks

put signs wherever the bums hang out.. Free food, and Free Obama phones, courtesy of the Mayor and entire town council
to be handed out in front of the mayors office or his house for that matter, pick a weekday, early or mid afternoon time.
now show up and wait for a sizeable number of bums to start trickling in, quickly.. and I mean quickly throw up the tents Leave the cell phone tent empty. Hang signs on it that say the Mayor will be handing out free cellphones at .. whatever time
throw the coolers under another one and place sign.. Help yourself

I attend the university and have run into this problem repeatedly. No matter how politely I refuse, there is no shortage of homeless to harass me. The problem really is getting out of hand. It's starting to make IU and the surrounding town look bad.

You can always do what Kokomo did a few years back. They went to their homeless shelters with their Community Corrections van, asked who wanted a free ride to what ever city they were headed too that day and off they went, dropped them off at the homeless shelters there.

I know some will say BS but I dealt with quite a few of them in Lafayette and all had the same story on how they got here from Kokomo. Of course once word got out what they were doing and some complaints made it came to an abrupt halt and the influx of homeless dropped off.

Moral of the story, load em up, drop them off and tell them to keep their mouths shut.

this is nothing new....in the 80's i would have to run bum's out of machine rooms behind grocery stores to work on the stuff......i called BPD many times and they said just run them off.....

On the land where CS used to be is a brand new low income apartment complex being finished as I type this . The move in's have probably already started .

They're being built by "the Martinez Group" , I think .

Probably nothing to worry about though cause I'm sure that not one taxpayer dollar went to the GC for that contract .

I saw this come up out of the ground. Great use of public land. Some one or group of someones got fat off of this I am sure.
We live in Speedway area now. They roam the streets around here.

I like the ones that hang their backpack over the "no soliciting" signs at the hwy 45/5th street north bound off ramp.

South of town near the IGA/Wendys Friday last week was a kid that couldn't have been more than 20 begging. His clothes looked as good as mine and he appeared to be healthy. Absolutely no self worth - no self esteem - no pride whatsoever.

I was waiting for a table at the Village Deli last Sunday morning and watched as they panhadled their way down the sidewalk. I just turned my right hip toward them and they magically skipped my wife, my daughter and I.

The students will tell you it's a problem that is getting progressively worse.

My long time friend has lived in B-town for 21 years. He has said that the past 4 or 5 years has seen a huge increase in bum activity. They are also wandering the subdivisions during the day and knocking on peoples' doors to solicit this and that.

One guy in particular had white power gang tats on his arms and the black teeth typical of a tweeker. He has been regularly seen wandering the streets and knocking on doors.

That town has indeed reaped what it has sown. There are so many decent and smart people in that town. It's just a shame that they're now outnumbered by the "enlightened" types.

I live in Bloomington, and I too have seen an influx of bums. I typically OC, and don't typically get harassed as much as some of our members seem to. I have had a few run-ins, typically they un-ass themselves from my presence once they realize I'm armed.

Bloomington is turning into a "little Chicago" IMO. I live between Bloomington and Ellettsville, and once it starts spreading there, I will begin to call the sheriffs office daily until I get satisfaction. It's bad enough I've got a convicted violent sexual predator spending about a third of his time less than .25 miles from my house, daughters, and wife! I've made inquires to the Sheriffs office, and they insist there is nothing that they can do. I have told my neighbors and my wife that I am treating it as such:
when he passes my house I will take no action, when he attempts to communicate with me, I will make my opinion of him known; if he sets foot on my property, he will receive 1 warning and a 5 second grace period to remove himself. If he attempts to contact, communicate, or in any way accost my wife or daughters I will take immediate and violent action to defend my family!

At least Hizzoner Kruzan stated today in the HT that those advocating a low barrier shelter harm the community as well as those they think they are helping. Support models like Martha's House that get people back on their feet rather than enabling irresponsible living.

This hit home with us this very morning. We went out the side door under the carport and there was a "Homeless Person" (trying to be PC about this....****ing bum) asleep in front of my truck. We rousted him and he became violent. Not a smart move. He was physically escorted to the curb and ejected (best way to describe it) into the street. Neighbor came out and said they had ran his drunk A$$ off in the middle of the night when he tried to get into one of their cars. LEO called and of course no show. Just a bum trying to get comfy.
He was cussing us as he re-gained the sidewalk and the neighbor got after him with a broom. Pretty comical. I think he was arrested at the corner gas station for making a scene.
This is the final straw for us.
Crazy thing is my son OC and it had no effect on his demeanor. My foot up in his butt did have some effect.
I am sure there will flames on this. Should have called LEO etc. Screw that. Next one leaves hurt....period.
