    Somewhere else
This hit home with us this very morning. We went out the side door under the carport and there was a "Homeless Person" (trying to be PC about this....****ing bum) asleep in front of my truck. We rousted him and he became violent. Not a smart move. He was physically escorted to the curb and ejected (best way to describe it) into the street. Neighbor came out and said they had ran his drunk A$$ off in the middle of the night when he tried to get into one of their cars. LEO called and of course no show. Just a bum trying to get comfy.
He was cussing us as he re-gained the sidewalk and the neighbor got after him with a broom. Pretty comical. I think he was arrested at the corner gas station for making a scene.
This is the final straw for us.
Crazy thing is my son OC and it had no effect on his demeanor. My foot up in his butt did have some effect.
I am sure there will flames on this. Should have called LEO etc. Screw that. Next one leaves hurt....period.
It's unfortunate that you discovered him before you started driving away.

He was (un-fortunetly) in front of the wife's truck. We were on our way out front to the service van. My son spotted him. Trust when I say he had a most un-pleasant experience. I fear exchanging bodily fluids with these idiots. Who knows what from who knows where. He did receive some vigorous attention to his back side and rib cage when he got PI$$Y with my son. I am sure he has some issues breathing and sitting right now. He also took a crap on the other side of the truck. Had I known that before we ejected him It would have been far worse. The broom beating was worthy of U-tube but I was ill equipped for that.

What would our "Options" be for people (loosely used) who do not care to conform to normal (what is that) living and societal etiquette. They are nuts by our standards but dealing with them over my entire life I see no end or answer to this.
Go downtown after dark in the colder months and look around the air reliefs for the buildings. They are usually located near the docks or in the alleys. They discharge the warm air when the building is adding fresh air to the HVAC system which is a constant. They fight to sleep on or by these vents. The urine and feces smell is horrendous. I work on the HVAC systems in these buildings and deal with them every day I am down there. They have pee'd on my truck, broken the windows and stole any number of items. When you serve a little justice on them it is you who receives a load of crap from LEO.
    Over it is an understatement.

Good for you. Non-conforming behavior is only prevalent when society allows it to occur. In the "good old days", LEO's spent quite a bit of their patrol time rousting the "bums". When the pressure was kept up they either moved on or conformed to society. If they were mentally deficient, they were sent to the proper treatment. Now with the lousy libs running everything and PC being shoved down everyone's throat the nonconformists are becoming the norm. Oh, the poor poor homeless. Hey, the vast majority are homeless because they want to be.

I did not know this. Is it society that allows me to carry a firearm?

I can not see how your question is relevant. Especially if you have paid the fees/taxes to possess a LTCH. Then you are totally conforming to society.
It is of course your right to own and bear.
If we allow a puppy to pee by the door with out attempting to change the behavior then it will do this as long as it lives. Allowing this is where we go wrong. JMHO of course.

I was asked once by a kid in his late teens standing at the entrance of walmart asking people for money for cigs, including me as I was walking out the door. As I was passing by, I look at him and then at his cig he was presently smoking and told him hell no!

Bloomington is becoming a crap pit. All these bums are drawn here by the libs and the shalom shelter that supports them. Ever want to hear a lib sputter and convulse call the shalom center and ask for the jobs/employment person, then see what happens when you say "yes mam I need about 10 of your vagrants to do some day labor on a job site" haha they dont do "work" like that but they will take donatons.

"A tramp is a bum, a parasite, a man that won't work. A hobo is an itenerant laborer who prefers casual freedom to security. He works for his living, but won't be tied down to one environment." Robert A. Heinlein Sixth Column, 1949

I was in a Circle K down in Bloomington a couple of weeks back. I ended up standing in line behind a couple of very nice looking young ladies - hair styled, fingernails, hip tattoos. I stood in line a bit longer than normal because these two had to buy their fountain drinks with a SNAP card. So when I paid cash for mine, the cashier hits me up for money for their cause du jour. I respond - "Sorry, I just bought their drinks, can't spare it." I don't think he got my reference.

Another day another homeless leach story. 2:30 and a very dirty man and women who looked stoned were coming out from behind one of the homes a block or so south of the great homeless shelter. She was adjusting her clothes so I have a good idea what they were doing behind the home.

I can't wait till the addition on the homeless shelter is finished.

It's amazing how they leave you alone when you're open carrying.

They are around downtown Louisville too. When I see one spot me and start towards me with their spiel, I casually brush my shirt aside on the RH side and place my hand on my .357 snubbie. They never actually see the pistol but know right away what I am doing and do an about face pretty quickly.

I was coming out of call in Bloomington and a lady that might have been homeless had tried to open my door on my company car.

I asked, "can I help you" and informed her that was my car door she was trying to open. She said she thought this was her car and walked off............

The park just north of the Post Office had 50 or 60 people hanging out by the stone wall.

I have heard through the grape vine that Kroger has demanded the City fix this problem for the grand opening of the Kroger renovation on 2nd street. They have spent too much money fixing up the store to let this problem drive away customers.

This is everywhere, I don't really think its new. I lived in Chicago for a few years. Walking the streets, I'd come across someone asking for change. I wanted to be a good person. I had change in my pocket. I didn't have a good job and was pretty poor myself but I wanted to be a good person.

When I kept running into the same guy, still asking for change for the bus, I'd didn't feel so bad about saying no. Then there was the time some big black guy with crazy eyes asking me if I had ANYTHING, even pennies. I knew I had some pennies in my car so I said hold on and scooped up all the change I could find and gave it to him. He looked at me like I had to be joking, handing him a Baggie full of pennies.

After some time I finally realized that no matter how many times you give a hand out, there's going to be the next guy who comes along who has no idea how many times you've tried helping others, nor does he want to hear about.

What drove it home was when I had children. No longer did I feel like I had extra money to be just giving away. I had children that needed every bit that I could provide. I grew a hard heart to the takers and learned to say no and NOT be sorry for it.

You can't save the world with pocket change. It's sink or swim.
