You know, I'd say it is like selling a used car. The buyer could jack you and drive off without paying, or the seller could jack you and take your cashier's check. But we have all sold used cars, or similar, and that was to total strangers. At least on INGO people have history and ratings.

That happened to a buddy of mine in high school many years ago. The prospective buyer sitting in his Corvette he had for sale, listening to the engine run, popped the clutch and took off. Never recovered the car and the female accomplice took off in the car they arrived in, which had no plate. You never know.

This SHOCKS me. I am shocked and amazed.

You are one of the most paranoid and shifty old basterds I know <and I love that about you, you wonderful wonderful man> I am absolutely shocked you are totally OK with meeting some guy somewhere, where he KNOWS you have either a significant amount of cash, the time you are going to be there, and a firearm is involved.

If I wanted to murder/rob someone blind I could not imagine a better way to do it.

Join INGO, get 50 posts, setup a trade of a expensive rifle, have my buddy hit you in the back of the head with a bat, and voila.

My brand new gun with no backround check because after all, I am a felon, and off to the races!

No thanks. I will take my money first please, and then mail my gun to your FFL.

    Its just.... easier.

There are people here that wont take a SHOWER without a gun on their body, yet will open themselves up to a PERFECT ambush situation?

    Do not understand.

    And worst case scenario...

At first I was a little leary about meeting strangers to buy firearms. I've never had a problem though, and everyone has been really great to deal with. In full disclosure, I do have several snipers on rooftops when I meet people. My code phrase is "banana hammock."

Reading of past classifieds problem transactions have taught me well I believe. Thank you all for your contributions in the past.

If I'm the seller, my last communication is preferably a txt message. The message verifies an "I'll take it," as long as the product is as advertised. It is understood that they are not coming to look and coming with the agreed amount of cash to buy. Also that they are bringing DL and LTCH to verify state of residence and prove they are not a felon.

I've Never met a stranger so FTF is fine if logistics can be worked out. I'm hating on the 50 Post Ho's that belong on Hoosier Topics wanting 10X the Price for Items. I'll Never buy from them (and they'll be long gone) once the dust settles

Exactly, I've always been more nervous when going to buy a used car. The guy has good reason to believe there's a large amount of money on me or in my car. When selling a gun they have good reason to believe there's another gun in my pocket.

If a criminal wanted a gun, I would imagine it would be better for them to steal the car buyers money and then use it to buy the gun so that no ones looking for it.:twocents:

I just avoid the Black Market threads. I think everybody who isn't using those is most likely safe. Maybe it is just me, but I really have a suspicion that the folks on the BM section are t as "stand-uppy" as the usual classifieds.

I think I brought the bad karma on myself by this discussion? The last few classified dealings I've had have not been the normal stellar stand up dealings that I have been accustomed to with INGOers. :(

Remember who they are....avoid dealing with them in future....maybe they will fade a way. Lots of newbies on the forum. They will learn or perish.
