Snow tonight up to 1" Tomorrow snow, possible 2 " total, temp 25 - 35, 5 - 15 mph winds from the north.

Yeh!! I'm bringing my AR. See you hardy souls in the morning.

Although weatherman forecast 1" of snow overnight, was a no show. Morning dawned dry, however a light snow started at 0800.

Arrived at range around 0835 and found ATM waiting. Opened gate/Club house and soon had a full compliment of instructors and shooters.

Hawkhavn came in for some trigger time and the rest of us (ATM, LARS, Bill of Rights, Yellowhousejake, and yours truly) took our turns. Unforgiven1203, his dad Don and friend Steve were our three shooters.

Light snow all day, melting as it fell. A GREAT day for shooting Called it a day at 1500 hrs.
Boy, Don has got it! The six steps to firing the shot and NPOA = tight groups. Great shooting Don.

That's a fact! Don is proof "Dangerous Old Men" are still among us. Great shooting.

True that. This has been a great year for Appleseed in Indiana and thanks in no small part to Dave for all his hard work making Cloverdale so accessible to us. Thank you, Dave, very much, and thanks to all who've come out to shoot with us and reawaken their inner American Patriots!

In all I had a really good time today. I love shooting in the snow! It's so much better than shooting in the rain if it's cold. The photos below don't really do justice to how really gorgeous the weather was for being outside in December shooting with fellow Hoosiers.


Here's the prep area before the first stage of fire.

One of many shots I tried to catch either brass, a fireball, or the cloud of snow that was kicked up every time Unforgiven1203 fired his AR.

Great day for a mini! We rotated duties so everyone could get a little trigger time in.

I got to try out yellowhousejake's Marlin 795 with Tech Sights. Very capable LTR and a great value too. Thanks!

All in attendance today had received prior Appleseed instruction so it was largely just verifying and fine tuning by the numbers.

I loved the sounds of the ARs and the SMLE booming above the crack of the .22s.

it'd be nice to see some new faces at the mini on the 16th. C'mon guys, theses things are a lot of fun(unless the weather is Really bad).

Hey, it can STILL be fun.

These guys & gals should take it as a personal challenge.... just ask yourself, can I put 10 rds into a 4 MOA target (1" sq) during a snow storm, or when it's 15 degrees out?

Can I keep my rifle from freezing up at 15 degrees?

Am I capable of shooting a Rifleman's score (210 out of 250) on an AQT with the wind blowing snow in my face?

WOW, just think of all the possibilities

I'm going to try to attend on the 16th as a shooter rather than wearing my orange hat. (unless of course we get a Lot of shooters and you need extra hands)

I just need to secure baby sitting services for my, (by then), 7 month old.
