Don't see anything on major news channels yet. Fox has been talking about Trump not showing for debate for the past 20 minutes.

The shots fired, and the subsequent death means Bundy and his group are going to be serving LONG prison sentences. Sad. This wasn't the battle they should've chosen to throw their lives away.

more specifically, they had a chance early on to leave while the situation was getting some reasonably positive attention for the Hammonds. The longer this went on, the more that cause was forgotten.

Ideologues who think they're standing for principle don't seem to figure things out until it's too late. That's a pretty silly hill to die on.

if they had accomplished some small thing and shown any sign of compromise, I'd be supporting them

They made a bad choice to begin with, and they got egotistical when they weren't getting arrested early on.

I am sorry to hear someone was killed.

They exploited a more legitimate complaint to find a hill to die on. Instead of furthering the cause, they're the laughing stock of their detractors. One is dead. And the main antagonists are in jail.

Wonder what the rest of them still at the refuge will do. Surrender or try to make some kind of a stand. Since they first took that place over I've wonder how many would end up dying. I'm all for make a line in the sand when needed, but this wasn't the cause to die for.

conspiracies are starting REAL quick... people claiming that Finicum was killed while cooperating and being arrested by police.

He's actually one of the guys I thought was most reasonable. He gave an interview a week or so ago, to a pretty liberal reporter, and he sounded smart as a whip, and seemed sincere.

The pathetic thing isn't the question of whether or not this actually happened, but that we live under circumstances in which this story is plausible.

With the amount of care they took to prevent a full blown Waco I doubt they would just shoot one of them for kicks. I'm willing to bet there were two dozen dashcam running along with body cams on every LEO on the scene to cover their ass. They will probably start metering out footage at press conferences throughout the week.
