The party system puts up people they believe can win. Its really simple. I even hear people say the democrat party buys vote with "free stuff" and "socialism/nanny state government" thats how they get votes.
Going off of that logic, what motivates some voters to choose alternatives? Why do some people vote for the republican party? What is it they are "selling" that we are sopposed to buy?

    Liberty.
Not free stuff, not telling others how to live, not bigger government, and actually obeying the constitution.
    Not Romneycare, not gun restrictions,
not the expansion of the department of education, not the war on drugs,
not nation building or giving our money to other nations (is that really accepted buy the public? My god were stupid, and with our tax money!)
not going to war without congresional approval (unconstitutional), not the UN,
not states rights (abortion [killing] is a states rights issue and not even close to falling under thier allowed governance, now its legal everywhere because we allowed them to here Roe v Wade) Not marrage of any sort, Its my own damn bussines who is in my bed with me and my woman, and frankly I dont need the feds approval or want them there with us or in any other religious institution)

And for the love of GOD, not "Bi-Partisanship" so we can "Get things done in Washington".

If you want liberty, things in Washington do not need to get done, they need to get un-done.

So what have the republicans, the "Party of opposition" steadily offered? And what have we steadily accepted them doing more and more of? I know that most have accepted it and I have prof. They still vote for it. Some do so because they are scared of the "alternative". Well, the alternative isnt much further away from what republicans have learned to accept from thier own party. And in my opinion, is nearly identical.
But you just wait until next election (thats what they said when McCain was the nominee) and we can hear about how liberty is unelectable. But if you are not voting for liberty, what are you voting for?

I've listened to him often over the years, and almost nightly this year.
He criticizes the Republican Party often, but believes the road to change is from within the party.
(reasonable people can differ on this)

Levin simply did what he said was the best chance to win.
Pull for WHOEVER the Republican nominee turned out to be.

He believed rightly or wrongly that a 3rd party nominee couldn't win.

Which is also Ron Paul's strategy and mine

You don't have to leave the party if you like a different candidate more than your party's candidate.

"Pull for WHOEVER the Republican nominee turned out to be." is not the same as endorsing opposing 3rd party candidates.

never said it was. Goes to show you read to find disagreement
