That's what I told him, but he is positive that he can arrest me for standing in public with no ID:dunno:
If you are suspected of violating some ordinance or committing an infraction then you have to provide the information otherwise no ID is required.

Better yet I would ask your buddy to give you the IC that backs up what he claims.

I was told by a LEO, that is also a very good friend, that anyone over the age of 16 in IN, must carry and provide id to any LEO that asks for it.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many LEOs is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn't so.

he is a really good friend and I would like to straighten him out before he gets in trouble.
I just noticed you're from Ft. Wayne. How does your LEO buddy feel about the legalities of Open Carrying a firearm with an LTCH?

Sounds like your new mayor, whom we all got to see at a 2nd Amendment Patriots meeting last Fall, OCing a mouse gun, needs to give his new chief of police an a$$ chewing. This learn-as-you-litigate stuff is getting old. Somebody is going to get hurt some day.

Thanks for the Cliff's Notes version tonight. How about a detailed story tomorrow?

One more thought: What is the difference between being hassled and escorted out of the zoo and being stopped and cuffed for doing nothing wrong on a public street? If one is worth suing over why not the 2nd?
