I vote for my cat as the official INGO cat.

Seconded. (Surprised it took that long ;))

Motion to make my cat the official Vice President INGO cat.

(picture to be added later because I'm not good at that)

Dog, no problem. Cat, that's a problem. I'd self ban if INGO's official animal is a cat.

I used to be the same way Kut. Had no use for cats. About 13 years ago, DoggyMama really wanted one, so I got her a kitten for Christmas (not the one in the pic). Maybe it's because they've been raised with the dogs, but they acted more like dogs than other cats that I'd had experience with, so my opinion changed. The one in the pic shows more enthusiasm when I get home from work than the dogs do now. And she follows me around as soon as I get up in the morning too. They grew on me. :)

    Original cat (same dog).

This cat belonged to DoggyMama's aunt and she couldn't take care of him anymore. He was the only male in our house besides me for the brief time we had him. He wanted nothing to do with anybody and her cousin always said he was mean, but after about a week or so of hiding with us, he started coming out and seeing the other cat and dogs hanging out with us, he gradually started coming out and eventually he was following me around too and really turned out to be really affectionate. He didn't meow... he made this weird "sqeaking" sound so I started calling him Squeaker (his real name was Shadow). He loved the dog too. Unfortunately he was really old (like 18 years) and only lived about 6 months after we got him. I like to think he had a good final 6 months of life though. :)

Thank you for taking Squeaker/Shadow and giving him a good home when DoggyMama's aunt couldn't keep him. The alternatives for older cats and dogs are not good when their caretakers have to (often, very reluctantly) give them up.

I just paid somewhere well north of $500 for dental work on a cat owned by others who live in my house.

I say "somewhere north of $500" because that's the estimate that was reported after the first consultation, but on the day of the procedure, it was apparently "worse than they expected" and cost more. I have neither the courage nor the desire to search out the actual amount.

Someone said "cats"....I had to get this out of my system.

I vote for my cat as the official INGO cat. My dogs are afraid of the "crackling" of the fire, let alone gun shots. Don't get me wrong... I love my dogs and have always been a "dog person" (hence my handle), but they're *******. :):

I don't blame the dogs. That log in the fire kinda looks like a dog.

But anyway, cats were invented for fur. Not really much else.
