    Tall Cotton Lyrics
    Eric Bibb

My great grand ma told me when I was young
Keep a song in your heart and the truth on your tongue
You've been walking in tall coton all your days
You'll be walking in tall coton all your days
Well the years rolled by and I've done all I could
To follow her advice and it turn out good
I've been walking in tall coton all of my days
I've been walking in tall coton all of my days
Told my good friend Zora on the telephone
Though the past is gone and the futur's unknown
You'll be walking in tall coton all your days
Child you'll be walking in tall coton all your days
Well I know where I'm going and who's going with me
A place full of joy so baby please don't quit me
I'll be walking with you in tall coton all of my days
We'll be walking in tall coton all of our days
There's a long way to heaven and then again there's here and now
If you know where to find it my great grand ma told me
How you'll be walking in tall coton all your days
That's what she said you'll be walking in tall coton all your days
Another thing she told me when I was a child
Keep a shiny pair of shoes child you'll always be in style
You'll be walking in tall coton all your days
Yeah you'll be walking in tall coton all your days

I have no clue why they mis-spell "cotton"??????

If you keep doing the same thing, you'll end up in the same place

Quote from Great Grandfather regarding why he loaded the family into a buckboard wagon in 1900 and left Grayson County Kentucky for Muhlenberg County.

Dad was a little kid and as they were driving by a field near Caney Creek near Caneyville Pap looked to him and said, "That lands so poor 40 men couldn't raise Hell on an acre."

    I have two favorites.
My wife's dad who I never got to meet because he passed when she was in high school. When someone would say "I want this or I want that" his response was "People in hell want ice water but they're not getting it"

From the movie O Brother where art thou " You two are dumber than a bag of hammers"
