So, I'm a little dense. Can someone please clarify again a few points?
Let's say I work where ever it is that dansgotguns works. One day, as I'm pulling in, building security asks to search my vehicle. I say "no". Fortunately, I hit the powerball the night before, so I really don't care about being employed, I'm only coming in to get my Opus and Bill coffee mug from my desk. [speculation]Security says to stay put, I'm being detained for 'suspicion of stolen property' and radios HR to come fire me. HR calls cops and comes to the gate to pinkslip me.[/speculation] Now, I'm fired, sitting at the entrance to the parking lot. Supposedly, I've stolen something, even though I just got there. Now, how exactly do they plan to detain me? If Security Guard Bob points a weapon at me, what are my options? Finally, 5-0 arrives, Security [holsters his weapon, and] tells 5-0 the situation. Is that probable cause enough for them to search without consent? Can I ask 5-0 to arrest Bob for pointing a firearm at me in a situation where it was not warranted?
Assume in this situation that my car is immaculate, no chance of stuff hiding under crap in my seats, and I am not carrying a weapon in my vehicle.
Step2: Substitute all references to me being an employee above with me being a delivery guy for Fastenal or something.
Simple, they illegally detain you at gun point. When the 5-0 gets there, because the company pays hella taxes, the 5-0 bends over at the company's whim. Am I correct on my assumptions here?

If you'd just given back the stapler, none of this this would have happened.

1. I wouldn't get out of my car for some rent-a-schmuck. Then how did you quit? If you park in the lot, you must leave your car. If you go inside the plant there is this nice heavy security barrier and search point.
2. If I am already fired, how am I being detained, and what is the point of sticking around for a coffee mug? You are being detained the same way a store can stop you if they see you steal on camera.
3. Furthermore, if he pointed a weapon at me, my car would be in drive and my foot be pressing down on the accelerator very hard. Of course, if I were armed, he might be deserving of a bit of reciprocity. Your car is either blocked in by a security barrier, or blocked in by security cars at natural chockpoints.
At that or any point, a 911 call to have security jerk-o arrested for felony violation of IC 35-47-4-3.
Local PD come in. Ha Ha Ha Ha. I spilled my drink laughing. Local PD needs an escort to make sure they don't accidently get killed by moving machinery bigger than your house, and +2,900 degree metals.
The car the local PD is driving, was provided by said employer.
And once again, they are allowed to detain, same as a store is.
4. Probable cause for the police to conduct a search based upon hearsay? Chances are the police would impound the car based upon evidence presented, which then leads to a vehicle inventory in the impound lot.
They don't need probably cause. You came on their property. You had to go past checkpoints. You signed up for it as condition of employment. Till you leave the property.
Will you quit posting here?
you're smarter than most on this board. too many idiots out to prove a point.
And doesn't a "Constitutional Right" pertain to a limitation on a government. Not a limitation on a citizen????
If you don't want a job where your vehicle gets searched, don't take a job where your vehicle gets searched.
Read the post again. The poster stated that HR was on their way to inform you that you are fired. Then how did you quit? If you park in the lot, you must leave your car. If you go inside the plant there is this nice heavy security barrier and search point.

So a grocery store security guard sees you steal a candy bar, and its justified him or her to hold you at gunpoint? Really? Sounds like a clear cut case of taking action to preserve your own life.
Yeah, there are a lot of those that I've seen........I mean, other than high security complexes.
What are you talking about?
Great. They should be able to perform a cavity search too. Right? Furthermore, if you're already fired, the conditions of employment are now expired.
Surely you mean, "when somebody walks in those doors with a rifle." Not sure how the word assault got into your sentence but I took the liberty of fixing it for you.I keep mine in the car... Someday when somebody walks in those doors with an assualt rifle, They'll thank me...
