I have a small farm north of SR3 toward North Vernon,

I deliver parts to O'reillys Auto Parts there at SR3 in North Vernon.
That would be quite a drive just to shoot in our small group, but we would be glad to have you if you ever want to make the trip.
    Have a great day.

OK, I had to sub as timer/scorekeeper tonight. Had 4 shooters, 3 at 6, 1 came in at 7. Not too bad.

    B. Brumbaugh shot a 251-3X with .22
    James Hamilton shot a 202-1X with .22
    Robert Combs shot a 175 with .22
    Ruth Williams shot a 137 with a .22

    B. Brumbaugh shot a 197-1X with .44Mag
    James Hamilton shot a 182 with .38
Robert Combs shot 32 with .40

Great job, everyone!!! Thanks for coming by :rockwoot:

eta: AFAIK, there are not separate classes for the rimfire/centerfire, it just seemed easier to divide it up that way. So, B. Brumbaugh is this week's sole winner. Hope I didn't confuse anyone!!

These scores are subject to review by Dan when he gets to stop by again.

I shot horribal tonight so it is about what i expected. now on the bright note. I managed to shoot 30 rounds of reloaded ammo with no jams or anything. so for me it was a win. I think I figured out my problem so now I can load away.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves tonight.

    Hi guys and girls.

Well Robert Combs scored a 200 last night with his .22
and he scored 116 with his Glock 23, 40 S&W, the great news is he didn't have any malfunctions since he started taper crimping his handloads.
He did have a malfunction with the .22 but it was ammo that caused it.
He had a good firing pin hit but the ammo failed to fire.
    Have a great week everybody.

P.S. The classroom is up and running now and I have been thinking of having a free, FREE, FREE class by me and maybe Steve might join in on how to sight in and shoot your favorite handgun to help those who are having lower scores than they would like to have.
Spread the word and let us know if you would like to attend.

    Hi guys and girls;

OK, we had a great night tonight and a new shooter will join us next week.

    B. Brumbaugh shooting .45 Auto was our winner tonight with a 239-3X and has a box of ammo (.22, 325rd. count) waiting for him along with 1/2 hr. range time.

Opp's, my bad. no range time but I'll personally cover it for you anyway Brumbaugh.

    Next is
    J.Hamilton .22 with 233
    R. Combs .22 with 224
    J. Hamilton .38 with 175-1X
    R. Combs .40 with 150-1X
    M. Williams .22 with 85
    R. Williams .22 with 84-1X

We had a demo tonight with a Crimson Trace laser site which was enlightening to say the least.
Next week I hope to show some pointers on shooting technique.

In regards to the league shoot

    Sirs,

I would like to know if there are openings in the league shoot. I visited the Beech Grove Gun shop yesterday, and was impressed with the range. I have been reading this thread and talked with a friend from work about the possibility of participating. We are interested in joining since it is close to work (across the street), and open to all calibers and handgun styles. The commaradery through this thread seems to be what we are looking for. Any response would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    Wallace,

The league is open to all, no real membership. Just come in, pay for your range time and targets, and you're good to go!

    Steve,
I seen some patrons walking out of the range with some large poly cases. Are there any rules that we should be aware of about locked cases or no holstered firearms. I would hate to upset anyone on a first impression. Ignorance is not really bliss.

If you don't have a case/bag/box for your long gun, just have the action open, and/or no mag in it. As long as we can see its empty, then you're OK.

If your carry pistol is loaded, just leave it in the holster until you get onto the range. We are pretty easy going in that regard.

    Hi again;

Well the winner last night was:
Robert Combs with a 221 shooting .22 cal.
and he won the 325 ct. box of .22 ammo.
He also shot a 156 with .40 cal.

James Hamilton shot a 204 with .22 cal. and
    a 170 with .38 special.
He also had the quietest loads. I think he
was using only magnum primers with no powder.
LOL. but we all had a great time.

Yes gang, we did have a good time last night, we also had some new shooters join in with us last night and I think they had a very good time shooting and maybe learning a few things.
I want to stress that you not be discouraged if your scores do not live up to your expectations, that's what were there for is to learn and get better.
For instance, James Hamilton was finally able to keep all of his shots in the black circle of the slow fire target last night, a great accomplishment for any of us to strive for.
So here are the scores for last night.

    J. Hamilton .22, 258-2X
    B. Braumbaugh .22, 249-2X
    J. Hamilton .38, 234
    R. Combs .22, 230-4X, way to go Robert
    R. Voland .22, 197
    R. Combs .40, 174
    W. Pulley .38, 160-1X
    M. Williams .22, 159-1X
    R. Voland .45, 109
    R. Williams .22, 92-1X

Great job guys and remember if you have any questions, just ask.

The guys had to suffer through me as timer/scorekeeper tonight :D

    R. Combs .22 254
    R. Combs .40 131
    J. Hamilton .22 232
    J. Hamilton .38 190
    W. Pulley .357 92
    W. Pulley .38 108
    R. Voland .22 151
    R. Voland .45 101
    J. Miller .38 67
    J. Miller .45 91

There were some ammo issues in both .22 and centerfire, but all in all, it looked like everyone had fun (which is the point of this league).

    See ya next week!!!

I had to work late tonight so I couldn't be there but hopefully next week.
    See you then.
