I like the run what you brung idea, but would suggest 2 divisions for scoring. One being .22 and the other everything else since the .22's can make it easier in rapid fire.

Well guys we had our first league shoot tonight 4/2/2013 and I think it went very well for our first attempt.
    The scores are as follows.
Brian P. 1st. place with 231-3x - 22cal. pistol, 1/2 hour range time to Brian.
    James H. 2nd. place with 228-2x - 38 spl. Revolver.
    Robert C. 3rd. place with 212-1x - 22cal. pistol
    Kevin Q. 4th. place with 202-1x - 22cal. pistol
    James H. 5th. place with 201-1x - 22cal. pistol
    Nick B. 6th. place with 171 - 45 auto - pistol
    Robert C. 7th place with 49 - 9mm? pistol
Calibers did not seem to have any advantage in scoring on paper, recoil is another matter.
    See you all next week.

Don't forget, league shooting tomorrow Tuesday 4/9/13 at 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00 pm. The more you shoot the better you'll get with proper practice.
Maybe I'll get to shoot this week.

Can we get a little more info. I am looking but not finding it.

Sure, we shoot at NRA B2 and B3 targets at 50 ft. (16.5yds.). 10 shots slow fire in ten minutes, this is ment to give you time to settle down and calm yourself from getting there, check-in and carrying your gear and even change your sight settings.
Then 10 shots in one minute followed by 10 shots rapid fire in ten seconds.
Sign your 3 targets and include your phone number and hand them to me or the working range supervisor. Then you are free to finish up your 1/2 hour range time as you wish.
Targets will be scored by someone other than yourself and the high score will win a free 1/2 hour range time.
BTW you may use any handgun in any caliber held any unsupported way you wish.
This is for fun and fellowship, as it grows we may make changes.

Sounds like fun. I used to shoot 50ft rifle league and really liked it. I will come out and give it a try one night.

    We will be there.

And they were and he and his wife had a great time I hear.

Tonights shoot was a hoot (a little humor there) and we all had a good time.

    The scores were as follows,

James Hamilton, 38 revolver, shot a 200-1x and wins a half hour range time.
Rogers, shooting a 44 Magnum, shot a 174-3x and a slow fire score of
    91-1x which was amazing.
Dave M shot a 124 with his .22 LR cal. pistol.
    James Hamilton, shooting a .40 S&W pistol scored a 106-1x
    Robert Combs, shooting a .40 S&W shot a 95-1x

Great job guys and girls, see you next week.

When I brought my daughter to shoot there and I was told all under 17 had to have some kind of certification (Hunter Safety, NRA, etc.) to be able to shoot at the BGF range.

OK guys and gals we had a great turnout tonight, 4/16/13, and it looked like everyone had a good time.

Brian Brumbaugh was our high score winner tonight with a 268-3X shooting a .22 pistol so he wins a free half hour of range time.
Next was James Hamilton with a 226-1X shooting a .38 special. revolver.
Followed by Robert Combs with a 221-1X shooting a .22 pistol.
Next was Dave Perkinson with a 219-2X shooting a .22 pistol.
Then James Hamilton with a 186 shooting a .22 pistol.
Then Nick Brown with a 175-2X shooting a .45 auto pistol.
Then Brian P. with 171-1X shooting a .45 auto pistol.
Followed by Zach Rogers with 161-2X shooting a mixture of 9mm and .44 Magnum.
Robert Combs shot a 110-1X with his .40 S&W auto pistol.
And last but not least Ian M. shot a 108-1X with what looked to be a .38 special revolver or 9mm auto pistol, hard to tell.

Please, don't anyone get discouraged by your scores, you will improve and that's the whole point, that and having a good time.
I look forward to seeing everybody again next week. Have a great week all. Dan.

Tried to post earlier--not sure if it went through. I work til 6 tonight in Fishers and by the time I pick up my firearm, I think I'll have missed the time spots for the league tonight. Hopefully next week I can jump in again. Good luck everyone.
