This cloture was a test, and everyone involved knew it. That Murkowski voted no is a signal that's where she'll vote for confirmation. Same for Manchin, mostly. That's good, but since he's a Dem and realizes his vote could be leverage, who knows what he might want for it.

Wouldn't be surprised if he turns into Ambassador to Ireland or something after the new year.

I've read that the vote may be postponed to Sunday to allow Montana-dude to vote. I have to believe there'd be several offers of charter plane trips to help him do both.

I was hoping to see 52 today. Actualy I was hoping 53 but I would have felt I could relax alittle at 52. At 51 I'm not feeling as good.
