Trump said things that appealed to many people, on both sides of the political spectrum.
The media covered almost every word, because they knew it would draw people in.
That coverage reached millions of people who would not otherwise have known Trump was saying those things.
If the media had not covered Trump to near-exclusivity, those people would've probably voted for more traditional candidates.

Yeah, that's a difficult pseudo-syllogism to prove, but it is supportable.

There is an analog to this Kavanaugh process. If the media were not cooperating in the Dem's manipulation of the process, there would be less manipulation of the process.

Hold the vote as soon as the FBI completes the check this week. Mcconnel needs to make it clear that there will be a vote and the obstructionists will be on record as voting no. If they are Republican and they vote against kavanaugh then there will be consequences in the next election period.
Time to demand term limits like the office of president has. No more lifetime serving politicians
