Internet Speed Test - Post yours!

For those talking about fiber..... Fiber is in some neighborhoods but I don't know of any of those that have fiber in the house also (cost). So you have fiber going to your house then cat 5 inside the house. You get insane speed to the house then a bottle neck once it gets there so in other words you dont get near the speed the fiber supports. Don't get me wrong I would still prefer fiber to my house over anything but remember that it is only fiber TO your house.

Funny I am no where near Chicago. This is the 4G LTE that I am getting in Jasper. I live just a few hundred yards from getting a cable connection. Not too shabby.

I did the test as well and it showed that mine was REALLY slow. IF I were one that downloaded movies and music and I averaged about what you're saying you get for movies and music, I probably wouldn't exactly believe it either. But I'd never download because I don't want the feds busting down doors and shooting my dog.

I'm honestly very satisfied with mine... I live way out in the sticks and am using an AT&T Elevate 4G LTE broadband card.

Out here in the sticks, this is what I usually average: (Just did this 2 minutes ago)



But using this in the city and around Greenwood, I consistently get 28-32mb/s download.

By looking at everyone else's numbers, Im going to guess mine isnt very good. I hate Hawaii.

Not sure how to post the pic, but these were my numbers:

Download: 0.73 Mb/s
Upload: 0.93 Mb/s
Ping: 208 ms

Grade: D-
Slower than 77% of the US, at least im faster than a few people

Disclosure: I have no idea what these numbers mean, Im just really bored, and theres not a lot of activity going on in here right now.

Well, figured it out and tried it again. Even slower. Must be why I suck so bad on Battlefield 3.

New test with ATT U-Verse. Not as fast as comcast was, but pretty close to the 12/2 advertised.

Posting this because Tuesday I'm switching my internet
over to BrightHouse Lighting even though it's provided by
them now, I'm a Earthlink subscriber and it runs through
Earthlink/Mindsprings bottleneck.

Looking forward to speeds up to 40mb up from 7mb,
and upload speeds cranked up to 4mb from my crappy
512kb right now.

No longer will I be po'd while gaming online and getting
killed because the wife opens a YouTube video.

Will post the new speed results sometime after noon because
they're supposed to be here between 8-10am.
