I was late on picking up on the debate. I'll try to keep up better next time:D

Safety is the most important thing, we as gun owners need to know. The dumbasses that we read about constantly doing stupid things don't follow rules, and they generally aren't INGO members.

They don't follow 3 rules, and they don't follow 4 rules. Find a set you like, learn them, practice them, then teach others.

    The rules are the rules!

I killed my brother's brand new chronograph back in the 90s. It wasn't a negligent discharge, just poor marksmanship. I was also a good lesson in the potential consequences of bullets going where you don't want them to go.

THIS is why I shouldn't hold my pee while reading INGO...

I'll fess up... I was at the local indoor range shooting a new pistol and I thought I'd loaded X number of rounds.

"Used them up" and pulled the trigger again, jokingly.

    Gun went off.

Turned to my brother behind me and gave a big, sheepish grin.

For some reason, thought I'd do it again.

    Gun went off again.

Was still pointing downrange both times but I was (and am) still mad at myself for the lack of discipline.

Luckily, that's the worst I've done so far in my shooting history. I hope it stays that way.
