j706 is right on target-- this really should be a "respect for human life" issue. But when we erode that fundamental respect for the sanctity of human life from conception and take it out of God's law and put it into a relativistic hands of Government to decide, then the fabric starts breaking down and the continuity becomes flawed. People that have that fundamental respect for human life "think" differently and subsequently "behave" differently. I think a statistical exercise should be conducted to see what correlations can be made with perpetrators that use weapons in violent crimes(including firearms)-- I'm guessing that lawful gun ownership is not going to correlate well and I would further speculate that pro-lifers won't correlate well either. Its about respect-- not guns.

There was a thread (yesterday I believe?) of women that were talking about meeting up and going to the capitol building to oppose their protest. I think who ever said it before was right, it should be women. I predict the anti gun women that will be at the march will be very verbally combative, why not let them look stupid? Hasn't this group already gotten a bunch of media coverage? That there will probably be media there, so if they look stupid for yelling things at pro gun people, could hurt their image. The only thing is, if women/any pro gun people show up with guns on their hip or strapped to their back, these women will see that as a threat. They are pretty unreasonable people, at least when I have dealt with them on facebook.

This group is going nowhere. Just another flavor of the month until the socialists find something else to protest. The local Indy organizer has a PR company and I'm sure she is writing off all her time on this cause. She also worked for the Democrat governor of Missouri a few years ago.

This is just political posturing with the typical lackeys following orders.

If I could I would be there with my family to counter protest. I like the idea of using signs like "My mommy loves me enough to protect me with her gun." They are using emotion, why keep trying to counter it with logic?

The point is to be there, ready, and organized before they are...

Ready and organized for what? I don't plan on engaging them. I will be there solely as evidence of their lie.

When they start showing up and going "Is this the One Million Moms..." and then they see the firearms - they may not actually assemble unless they literally show up en-masse.

They're starting their march at 10 at the War Memorial. Not the State House. I would assume they will assemble at the War Memorial first. I am planning on arriving at the State House around 10am, I don't really see the reason to be there an hour before they even get things started 5 blocks away. :dunno: Someone else can stand in the cold if she wants. I just don't see the point.

Just so you know what your up against:

Shannon Watts, the founder, is a lying hag. She is NOT as 'stay at home mom who started a grass roots organization' as is reported in the media.

Indiana Mom Shannon Watts Launches One Million Moms for Gun Control and Plans March on Washington

She is a PR Specialist who formerly work for a MO House Dem and is/has been involved in all kinds of national organizations.

I'm not saying its pointless to stand up to her and her group, what I AM saying is she is a pro, using her contacts to gain momentum, has the media on her side, and they will not report otherwise.

(They had only 300 in NY last week, but you'll not find that in the mainstream reports. )

Thanks for the info. It is always good to know who and what your opponent is.

Having said that and no offense but I don't personally care who she is, she does not scare me and I will not give in or have second thoughts just because she has connections and presumably power.

Certainly those going need to be mindful of that and act accordingly given that info but we should not be intimidated. I will not be.

Oh she doesn't scare me either. I've been banned (multiple shill accounts) from her FB sites for posting the truth about her and debunking the BS she posts from the VPC and Brady Campaign. In fact, She deletes any and everything that detracts from her message, even though she keeps saying that she's interested in rational discussion on the matter. She is the one who is afraid that the truth will get out.

Mike, it's about taking the wind out of their sails and showing them that no matter how powerful they think they are with their voices that they are not going to make us lay down our guns.

If fully agree that gun owners would be deamonized even if they threw stones and we all walked away. Right now the weapon in the fight is the voice. I think we need to do two fold. One, make our voice louder and do our best to make them feel like they're doing it for nothing. But that's what they don't understand right? Once the voice hasn't been heard, what's their next option?

I also find it very disgusting that they're starting at the war memorial. Really? Choosing to assemble in a public place that honors those men who took up arms to defend their freedom?

I doubt that even occurred to them. It is just a convenient place to meet. These folks have no concept of what it took (and takes) for them to have the freedom to march on the capital.
