it would be much easier on you guys.. I would'nt like to see it shut down but IMO there are really only two options left. Let some of this stuff just hash itself out or shut the whole thing down completely.oh but I wish I could
I would bet my.... well something, that it would just migrate to the break room. You'd have to make such discussions a banworthy offense to stop it.it would be much easier on you guys.. Political discussions have been and always will get heated at times. Unfortunately.
And when we let it work itself out we get tons of reports and then later accused of showing favoritismit would be much easier on you guys.. Well the status quo obviously isn't working. And when we let it work itself out we get tons of reports and then later accused of showing favoritism
Currently, Politics are ONLY allowed in the politics section. So I would think if we removed that section, those discussions would be locked and banworthy.I would bet my.... well something, that it would just migrate to the break room. Well if that's what it takes. instant ban if it manifests itself in another section.I would bet my.... well something, that it would just migrate to the break room. You'd have to make such discussions a banworthy offense to stop it.
This is a large draw to the site so yes it will remain.Currently, Politics are ONLY allowed in the politics section. So I would think if we removed that section, those discussions would be locked and banworthy.
However, I don't see it going away yet at this time.
It bleeds over even as I type. It is impossible not to. Especially when some of our own voted for gun control/higher taxes/higher energy costs.....etc and so on.Well if that's what it takes. instant ban if it manifests itself in another section.
Yep, usually if we catch it, it's an in-thread reminder that politics go in the politics section. However, usually members are really good at reminding each other about it first.Well if that's what it takes. instant ban if it manifests itself in another section.
Much like gun control, I don't see why the entire community should be punished for the actions of a few.Might as well just shut down the whole GP thread section then. Because it'll happen again and again. That's just the nature of the beast.
I don't see why either and I'm not advocating for either. My choice in all honesty would be to just let some of this stuff hash itself out but that's not in the nature for a moderated forum.Much like gun control, I don't see why the entire community should be punished for the actions of a few.
It would be great if that's how it happened. But people join in a discussion and get involved in helping it devolve into personal attacks, and then get pissy and start reporting the other person.I don't see why either and I'm not advocating for either. It is quite childish and IMO this tattletale reporting mentality gets to be a burden for the mods as well. I've rarely used the report function. Some people abuse it.It would be great if that's how it happened. And then we have to get involved because nobody understands it's ok to be a damn adult and walkaway to calm down and get back to being civil and respectful. Everyone just wants to be pissy at everything
It's a great tool. But yes, can get abused when you report things because you don't know how to be civil or even excuse yourself for a bit.It is quite childish and IMO this tattletale reporting mentality gets to be a burden for the mods as well. I've rarely used the report function. Some people abuse it.
