You are all much stronger than me. There have been very few guns that I have been able to let go. Even if they dont see that much carry use, I still pull them out once in a while. Its like seeing an old forgotten friend, and spending the day at the range with them..

I know what you mean by an old friend. I took my Mini 14 out the other day and it has been years since it was out. Shooting it was like putting on a coat you haven't worn in a long time and finding money in the pocket. :):

the Taurus 85's weren't so bad. I liked the stainless/hammerless better than the other 2. but recoil was a little more than I was comfortable with and I want(ed) higher capacity.
the Beretta 9000s had such a strange feel to it (for my sausage fingers). so bulky yet such a thin slide. It was difficult to get a good grip on the shallow slide.

Concur. The low slide was for a reason, though, it kept the bore axis low for less muzzle flip. The dual recoil spring and low bore axis make it shoot like a larger/heavier gun without actually being heavier/larger. I also liked the flip down floor plate on the magazine. It just occupied a middle ground I didn't have a use for, too small for a duty gun, too big for a BUG.

Welcome to the club my man, I too carry the Glocks 23/27 religiously. My retired G-22 is in the trunk. Those Glocks are my idea of life insurance. Obama care my ass, Mr. Glock takes care of me.

Similar story here with the same ending. My journey took me through Bersa's, Hi Powers, 1911s, CZs, Sigs and revolvers. I found what I liked to shoot and what I like to carry can be different. I love spending a day at the range with a 1911 or CZ and have kept my best ones, but it's generally the Glock 23/27 combo that is carried. I try to practice each week with the Glock and am to the point where I think it's what I shoot best, but once in a while I treat myself to a day with a 1911 or a CZ.

It's not so much about the destination as it is about the journey getting there.

with all of the talk and good words I read about the M&P series,
I think I'm gonna rent one next time I go to the range. I'm intrigued by them.
Might be able to get together sometime in the near future and you can try my M&P at Highsmith's or Wilbur Wright.

So, I'd just have 23 great guns to choose from. Though it would make the EDC 'pick of the day' more difficult, LOL!

Oh wait, that's the problem now. :lmfao:

when the Glock is the only one costing more than $100, I'd go with the Glock too. I hate Glocks though so I went ahead and tried some real contenders along the way and went with the Ruger SR40 and the S&W Shield 40. That's just me though.

If we ever do get togther and shoot, I have a hoard of handguns for you to try if you want to do so.

Sig P320... Trigger is much better than Glock or M&P and the design is fully modular. Anyone who shoots mine will become a believer (and you're not locked into any single caliber or slide length/frame size). Not to mention much more ergonomic than Glock. Comes with night sights and a holster priced about the same as Glock. Stipple it or carve it up and have regrets? No problem just replace the plastic because the guts drop right out. Awesome concept. Think P250 with much better trigger.

Good for you, I could never just get used to the grip angle on the Glocks, still have my 19, but got rid of my 26 and went with a Walther PPS and am loving that
