This 1911 was given to my Dad when he graduated from St John's Military Academy in 1949. It flew with him on bombing missions in the "Haulin Ass" during Korea and in KC 97s and KC 135s in Vietnam. When I graduated from St John's in 1978 he gave it to me. It is a 1948 C serial number gun, the first year production for civilians following WWII. I shoot it a good bit today and will go to one of my nephews down the line.

I have several guns that are cooler, cost more, even get shot more, but the old .458 SOCOM always puts a smile on my face...

The very first AR I ever put together all by myself.:wwub:

Has to be my S&W 4506-1 top one. It was my first gun I bought which happened to be on my wife's birthday March 28th exactly a week after we got married on March 21tst 2012. The S&W 3913 bottom oneis my best trade deal. I traded a Ruger LC9 with 3 mags and all that came with when I bought new as well as driving down to Indy to meet up. I figure I spent close to 400 back in 2013 with GB market showing 425-450 today. I also learned it was a California DOJ (probably trade in) made in 2006 well after the civilian sales ended.

For me its probably my Remington 870 police from the 70s, was a south Dakota state trooper shotgun before it made its way into the family. Smooth as butter.

I really like my Sig but I haven't shot it yet and just got it less than a year ago and it has no story yet.

Sorry for the crappy pic must have taken it before I got my new phone.
