if we wanted legislation that would actually help problems in America, it would laws banning Eric Holder and people like him from holding any kind of office or position that where they can make decisions or take actions that would actually affect any laws or policies in America. Eric Holder has done far more damage to America than all of the so-called "assault weapons" combined and will continue to do so.

Ban Eric Holder. For the sake of the children.

Wonder if Holder has any evidence that the Clinton Gun ban actually reduced crime....

Or if crime actually went up when they expired in 2004?

    HMMM, I doubt it....

First, they don't care whether it reduces crime or not.
Second, it wouldn't be worth it even if it did.

When their vision of the world conflicts with the reality of the world, it is reality that must give way, not their vision.

the drug cartels kidnapped my cat and their ransom demand was all my guns.

OH S***. I have chihuahua's. I bet those little south of the border K-9's
are spying for the cartels. Probably telling them when I'm gone and
    the safe combo.

Seems like a better way to help would be to seal the border from illegal smuggling. I know, I know, that's just crazy talk.

Ok, Ok... I know I am gonna get flamed for this and it is a lib stance... But instead of banning "assault" weapons why not legalize drugs... That is what these Mexican cartels are fighting over... Addicts are always gonna be addicts whether drugs are illegal or not they will always find a way to get a fix. Just like criminals with guns, if a criminal wants a gun he will get it, illegal or not. So instead of taking away our "fix" why not legalize the fix that is really causeing weapons to be used in an illegal way, not to say that all gun crime stims from drug use... Besides drugs are imported more into this country then any other... Could this not be a way to remidy some of Americas fiscal woe's?

No flaming here. The greatest conservative of my lifetime, Mr. William F. Buckley. Jr. arrived at the same conclusions decades ago.

You have a valid point and the prohibition of pot does need to end. But too many of the other drugs are dangerous not only to the user, but to the rest of us.

I personally don't smoke pot, but have drank and smoked in the past and don't see it as any worse.

BUT, that will not solve the crime problem related to drugs. People will still rob and steal to get money for their drugs.... which would go up in price because of taxes.

I see no difference in the prohabition of drugs, alcohol, or firearms. I for one stand for freedom, and phohibitive bans of any kind and a disgrace to me. Unless the gun owners of this country learn to embrace the idea of "Freedom for all" we will lose our battle. How can anyone say they stand for the 2A and yet ignor the 10A. And the 10A limits the government to only those powers covered in the constitution. That means no ATF, DEA, FBI, FDIC, EPA, FAA, DHS, etc.

We have let them take our freedom bit by bit over the generations, Now is the time to say NO MORE. Now is the time to scream ALL or NOTHING. We are either free men or we are slaves, there are degrees of this. We either have the Rule of Law, or we are at the whims of our masters.

It doesn't matter if you agree with a habit or practice, we must embrace it and secure its existance, or we will lose our rights as well. We must stand with the pornographers, the drug addicts, the crazy cultists, the journalists, the stock brokers, and any one that the government tries to interfeer with. For if we don't, who will stand with us?

I made it to page 5 before I got sick to my stomach and tired already of reading what I already know we all feel. We'll be talking about this for the next couple weeks I suppose so there will be more to be said as we go along. As I've seen 4Sarge say, and others say, we have to act now. The Marches need to happen NOW not 2010. We need to organize NOW and DO something. Write your legislators. They don't care, they never have and never will. We have to have a good strong showing NOW so they know we are serious. If they try to pass another AWB I predict the worst situation this Country could be in will happen. I'm not advocating it, I'm just stating a fact that others have expressed here and on many other forums I've read lately. Even though I don't like the NRA so much, I joined back up. GOA hasn't done near as much to save our rights and they are not as Nationally feared as the NRA is. I'm trying to volunteer my time to the MGOM for setting up things here in Indiana. I've been writing my letters to everyone who will listen, or not, and getting nothing in return.

As Britton said, if your guns are getting lost in boating accidents, stop buying them and let others who won't be losing ours grab them up. My guns aren't going anywhere except where my family and I go. Mine won't be found in some river or lake or ocean. Mine won't be found in some criminal's hands. They'll be found in ours.

Holder needs a damn reality check. How about we give him one.

Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.

"I think that will have a negitive impact in Mexico, at a minimum." Holder said at a news conference on the arrest of more than 700 people in a drug enforcement crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the U.S.

It will also allow criminals to prey on the weak and disarmed, raising crime rates, making terrorism easier, and turning law abiding citizens into criminals.

There, mister I'm an a**hole who loves to sniff obamatards balls, I FTFY. Now go shove your nose back in obamatards a** and don't come back out until election day.
