My 2008 F-250 6.4 PowerSTROKE diesel has 52,300 miles bought brand new on 10/23/2008

does it have the dual turbos or just the single and whats your opinion on the 6.4 over the 6.0 and 7.3. Ive been lead to believe to stay away from the 6.0s and I never really heard much about the 6.4s

6.0's I'd stay away from. The 6.4's do have twin turbos. The 7.3's were the old motors but good ones. We've got a 6.4 in a F550 service truck and it's a turd but it does weigh 17k pounds. It's been in for the egr motor quit and it's only got 10k miles on it. That's from my experiences. A guy that works for us acutally hauled his Dad's 05 6.0 in on a trailer to the dealer and traded it for a new 6.7. That 6.0 was in the shop all the time. It was hauled in by his sons 97 7.3 with over 200k on it!

My 98 F-150 4.6 Triton V8 has 129.575 origional miles on it. I know because i put them all there. So far its still a strong truck. Other than normal maintenance she has been trouble free. Knock on wood.

1996 Bronco with 215K and still going strong. Proabably have to replace the battery and the Fuel pump this year. Battery is 9 years old, and the fuel pump is original.

Have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata I bought back in Oct of 2011, it has 15K on it already. On track to be doing around 30K a year if I don't cut back the driving some.

The 6.4 have dual turbos, It's better than my old 1999 7.3 in everything except adding fuel, while you can pour multiple fuels in a 7.3 (the 6.4 should only use ULSD, they say 5% bio-diesel is ok, but I wouldn't use it) also you M U S T drain the water out of the fuel every month(very simple to do, just open a valve on the fuel filter for 30 seconds, then close it) & change both fuel filter N O later than 15,000 miles:twocents: BTW I haven't had any issues with my 6.4

115,078 as of ten minutes ago when I looked. On a 2007 Subaru Impreza that comes out to 16,439 miles per year. My other vehicles aren't any where near the mileage of my poor Subaru.

Is that in the Ford Manual? I've never heard that. I change my filters about every 10k on our diesels. We run some red thru our 6.4 once in a while and it does fine. Bio-diesel would help add lubricity to the fuel since they're taking a lot of the sulpher out of the fuel. I put some 2 Cycle injection oil in my Duramax once in a while to help keep the injectors lubed up. Had one on my work truck that was out of spec and I ran some 2 cycle oil in it for about 10 tank fulls and it's back in spec and runs smoother.

FORD said change fuel filter every 20,000 miles if you don't tow, drive hard, If you tow, drive the truck hard or drive in dusty condition every 10,000 miles, also FORD said N O additives, DPF makes these 6.4 fuel sensitive

How much 2 cycle? Mine is starting to haze a bit at idle, which Ive been told is injectors. Just changed oil and found no diesel seepage. Been putting Lucas treatment in it last few fill ups but hasn't helped much.

Sold my van a year and half ago, it had 425,000 miles on it. ran into the new owner of it and he has it up to 439,000. All original engine and it still does not burn oil, leaks it but does not burn it.

Did you transfer the arm cast and lazyboy chair with it too?
