    Glad this worked itself out, YouTube believe it or not has been getting much better about false copyright claims and working directly with content creators more to understand where usage rights lie. YouTube itself is a very complex beast when it comes things like google+ integration, copyright strikes, etc.
    A content creator uploading videos for any reason has to abide by different rules and TOS depending on their channels integration with google +, even though it is again, now its own separate entity. This was not the case a while ago, where by defacto if you created a YouTube account you got a google+ account too. Those who had a YT account before integration could opt out/ delete their google+ page for a limited time. Many people on YT at the time were completely unaware of that.

    Sry for slight derail, but it seemed issue was with G+ not YT.

    Oh it was a mistake alright.
    Fox News just reported complaints from more than 2 million viewers caused them to re-post his videos.

    I really find that doubtful. YouTube has no viable competitors. And it's not like the people who complained, in light of all the other firearm-related content, would abandon the site. They made a mistake and corrected it, that's all.
