Tomahawks are also called T-LAMs (Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles.) Big Blue launches ALCMs (Air Launched Cruise Missiles) and ACMs (Advanced Cruise Missiles) from heavy bombers.

GLCMs (Ground Launched Cruise Missiles) which were ground launched T-LAMs went away with the START Treaty in the late 80s.

These ARE NOT cheap weapons. In 2005 a T-LAM went for $775K and an ALCM with a GPS guidance kit was $1.2M

In comparison in 2005 a JDAM kit for a Mk-84 (2,000LB General Purpose Bomb) was $21K.

Cruise missiles? This **** is getting real serious.

Well, let's recap...

The world's "second power" is getting their asses handed to them in Ukraine, with NATO's help, and their president makes a regular habit of nuclear saber rattling. The US has ramped up Ukraine's capability with ATACMs.

The Arab world is lit up with protest, calling for the destruction of Israel. Nothing new, except for Israel just having gone through its 9/11 equivalent and declaring war on Hamas. Iran warns Israel about a "great earthquake," and someone (?) apparently fired actual cruise missiles at Israel, which were shot down by the US Navy in the Red Sea.

There are worldwide protests calling for Israel to be wiped out by Islamic radicals, seething leftists and other assorted useful idiots. Representatives in our own government refuse to condemn Hamas. The masks are coming off and Hitler is having a good chuckle, wherever he is.

Two US carrier strike groups are deployed off the coast of Israel. We have promised to defend Israel. If Israel is invaded from the north by Hezbollah (aka Iran), we will get involved. Do we know that the ****ing lunatics in Iran do not have a nuclear weapon? They are suppying Russia with drones and other weaponry, along with North Korea, which actually does have nukes. Two nuclear-armed bad actors who are enemies of the United States, and one that may or may not have a nuke, but is ruled by religions fanatics who have repeatedly threatened to wipe out Israel.

Ten minutes after Russia says they are pulling out of the nuclear test ban treaty, we conduct a test at our nuclear testing facility in Nevada. Russia threatens to resume nuclear weapon testing.

We have the weakest President since Jimmy Carter, and the world sees it. China sees it. Russia sees it. The Middle East sees it.

I'm not going to pretend to know what is going to happen. But you tell me that we aren't closer to the possiblity now than we have been in the last 15 years.
