I've OCd my Beretta 92 in Home Depot in Noblesville. I got great customer service, but nobody said anything about it to me.

I worked there for 8 years. It's a good store, probably the best in the district as far as service goes. There's always that "someone" to prove that wrong, but if you'd been there before April of '13 when I quit, chances are I helped you at some point. I was a flooring specialist there. In all the time I worked there, we only had one incident with a "gun", and that's when someone told one of the cashiers "I have a gun and I'm robbing you". While they were never "open" about anything, they never said anything either way to anyone to my knowledge. And it was never put out to me or any of the others on the safety team that we should advise the other associates one way or the other. But that's Noblesville. It's not like it's Eagle Creek.

I just don't get why these people lobby for something they can already do... It's like what is the point? Usually things like sit ins and other protests people did because it was wrong and not acceptable. So why when you can already openly carry a gun there go do it? :dunno:

Second Amendment rallies of any type usually include some open carry and done correctly it's fine. I was at one of the state house rallies we had in Indy last year, no one flipped out and everything went really well. Odd as it is, when people see a large group of armed individuals not carrying at the ready, smiling, and holding up some signs on public property they're fine. However when two numbskulls walk in looking like they're ready to start dropping people, folks tend to get a bit nervous. You can rally for just about anything and done correctly accomplish something.

I've always thought that one of the primary differences between those for greater freedom vs those who want to take it away, is that the first crowd demands everything they want right away without delay. The second group is willing to take small victories and gradually get what they want over time. It's currently not alright to go walking around with a scary black rifle everywhere you go. Should it be? I guess, but that kind of shock politics is proven to not work, so why do it?

The thing that put me off on Home Depot was when late one September, I went in looking for fertilizer and a couple of other yard related items. They had boxed up all summer stuff already and was selling Christmas stuff already. I know the other places are probably not much better, but in my mind, they dropped several notches in my regard for them.

I know what you mean. You should have gone to the Walmart by my house in March. They had all the grass seed and fertilizer you wanted. There was snow on the ground and it was colder than a well digger's butt. I went looking for humidifier treatment but no.........there was everything you needed to work in your yard.

Oh yeah, I expect to see guys who generally open carry with them at an event or something. I am all about support and rallies and things especially when needed. I am just referencing just what you're talking about. People showing up with rifles on their back (not at a rally, as this does happen a rallies sometimes and its cool, like if its in support of "assault rifles" in question) but like the guns and coffee starbucks things and then what is being done at Home Depot that's on a different level... So I'd have to say, yep I pretty much agree with exactly what you just said.

I think they're lobbying to be able to open carry in TX. Currently I believe TX is a CC-only state.

On a serious note; I don't pay any attention to "no guns allowed" signs, they are not legally binding in Indiana, more like a "suggestion" and I don't open carry
anywhere but home. I don't like to attract attention to myself.

I was under the impression that private property owners are legally able to prohibit carrying firearms on their property...

"The sign" itself has no weight of law in IN. The owner may ask you to leave, or put it in your car, but can't call police on you unless you refuse, in which case the charge would be trespassing.

Why do morons stage an OC event at a neutral company, causing them to side with anti-gunners? I think some do that because it works. I believe the morons that do those events are, in fact, anti-gun and have discovered that instead of waiting for us to make ourselves look stupid, they can do a better job of playing the fool for us. Remember that a lot of people on the other side of the issue are not anti-gun completely, they are just against carrying outside the home. I think these sorry SOBs figured out that they can get the reaction they want by carrying their guns around and saying there's nothing anyone can do to stop them.

That's my opinion on why these morons do what they do.

What I was about to say. Agents provocateurs. If we could obtain some of their identities, there may be connections of interest.

I won't cover up to make you or anybody feel better, but I won't come in with a gun in a low ready like some of these baboons that try hard to tarnish "responsible" gun owner's image.

When I see a person open carry I think they are trying to impress someone. The object of being armed is to protect yourself and family. To me this is not the old west.Oh just to say I consider it a privalege to conceald carry and I do everyday.I have never had a issue and hope I never do.I was tought and practice from concealed carry by Clint Smith over 35 years ago.

So what you are saying is when I open carry, I do it because I want attention?

Always CC myself. The first part of my gun you'll see is that sewer pipe .45 barrel that, under stress (they say), looks like you could crawl in. Nobody's gotten to see that so far, fine with me if nobody ever does. These people doing the OC thing as some sort of protest or display are putting people squarely outside their comfort zone, which is not going to be conducive to education. It's counterproductive, which makes me wonder how many of them are agents provocateurs.

I always CC myself in public unless I'm using the restroom, in which case I OC. As for my sidearm, I mostly OC. :)

And the only thing I "wanna be" is safe and left alone to go about my life.

So what qualifies them as Baboons and not you? Open carry is open carry, and a gun is a gun? I would imagine a nonsupporter to say such remarks however from one that appears to open carry not so much.
