Brief history on how it became a law to pasteurize.

Large milk dairies were causing thousands of people to become deathly ill. In some cases killing them.

Government threatened to shut them down because of the inability of them to maintain sanitary conditions.

"Big Milk" spent truck loads of money lobbying congress to allow them to keep the filthy conditions if in return, they would pasteurize their milk before selling it. Big milk then realized they could get a monopoly over smaller farms if they outlawed the sale of milk that was unpasteurized.

The only way congress could regulate it was via interstate commerce laws and since then large milk dairies have been lobbying state lawmakers to continue their monopoly at a state level.

YES! milk sold from big dairies needs to be pasteurized. Sanitary conditions are dismal.

Raw milk is perfectly safe provided some simple steps are taken to ensure the sanitary collection of the milk from the cow.

Cows don't naturally stand in metal stalls mooing for corn.
I have to quote this because I laughed out loud when I read it. :):

The same confusion comes in the organic vegetables debate... with the fear of e.Coli bacteria.

Gentlemen, I must protest. This kind of information cannot be given to the sheep. The Givernment must remain in control at all costs. Big business is our future! Neg reps to both of you.:laugh:

Govt agents accused of theft of cash during raid

Witness say the the owner of Rawsome foods told the raiders he had about $9,000 cash on his person when asked. The money was allegedly confiscated, yet it does not show on the evidence sheets of items taken during the raid.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
