The fact of the matter is that the freedom loving people of this nation are extremely divided and fractured yet the liberals are still united despite their differences. We are weak and our chosen candidate shows that. Im not afraid of what Obama will do but Im scared as hell of the supreme court justices he is going to pick.

Don't worry. They'll make the same mistake again next time, and we'll have an even FURTHER left candidate to run against an even FURTHER LEFT THAN THAT candidate, and it will be the most important election of our lives.

    Unfortunately this is the truth.

Should we be on the look out for a progressive "republican" governor so we can start grooming him/her for 2016 now?

Wait. Maybe we can get Bloomberg to stop calling himself an independent and put that R back in front of his name again. Then we can listen to him talk about how he is severely conservative.

I said what I meant. And you are way off base. :xmad:

The GOP promoted within it's ranks the idea that only certain types of candidates could win. Not even the GOP was truly excited about the candidate that gained the nomination - they just continued to tell themselves they were, and that holding their noses would gain them a victory, and mumble about how bad they want Obama out of office.

A generic Republican likely could have beaten Obama - because the core ideals of the Republican party are more likeable than the incumbent President.

Reagan would have won the general election. Lincoln would have won the general election. Neither Reagan nor Lincoln would have likely garnered the GOP nomination if they entered the 2012 race, even though they would appeal to a broader range of GOP voters - and a broader range of Americans.

The GOP has put in place a structure that systematically chooses sickly horses, which has contributed significantly to their loss in the last two presidential elections. The candidates the GOP chooses as the "safe bet" that "appeals to the broadest range of GOP voters" ends up being the exact opposite. In reality, the candidate held up as the safe bet often appeals to the least amount of voters by the time the primary ballots are cast - because they end up being viewed as more of the same in times where political change is what the electorate wants.

The American people were willing to vote for Republican ideals over Obama - just not that Republican.

With the new rules why bother. The republican national committee will pick the candidate for you. State delegates are meaningless and the national convention now is a joke of a fund raiser for the chosen candidate. The candidate can replace state delegates with ones he chooses(ie big money donors).

the GOP only has to blame their flip-floppity candidate. Put up somebody who stands for nothing, and you expect America to believe you?

Hell, they voted for Obama, didn't they?

Exactly, the King of undefined "hope and change!" With literally NO vetting in 2008, an unknown with no record of his past. And even now in 2012, no concrete plan for the future (AND NO BUDGET). What is he going to do different that will make things better? I believe Einstein had a quote for that.

Romney, would have been better than Obama, my hamster would have been better than Obama. But at this point I don't believe that a "generic" Republican candidate would have beaten him either. With his record, his bold-face lying, high unemployment, deception and cover-up of Fast and Furious and Benghazi? I have to agree that it is all about the favors promised to special interests, big unions, and more free ****, that people don't have to work for.

I still cannot fathom that there are tens of millions of people in this country willing to vote for a proven failure. If they don't like Romney, don't vote for him. But the fact that they voted for Obama anyway? He is degrading to women, he devalues life, he spits on religious freedom and even alienates black Christians, and they STILL voted for him...:xmad:

BTW There was no "perfect" GOP candidate running in the primaries either.

I'm uneducated and ignorant, remember? You promised to leave me alone, so go rant on your own threads, or argue with someone else. It's not hate speech, as I don't believe anything I said is illegal, it is called frustration with an America that prefers Socialism to Freedom.

Unless Obama has now declared himself a "protected class."

Johnson had no more impact on this election than any other Libertarian candidate has had. Ever. Libertarians are like a car spinning its bald tires on sheet ice, thinking it's gaining traction every time it moves another inch. Maybe next election you'll break 1%. I'm sorry, but the electorate has changed.

This is something I actually agree with O'Reily about is the reason behind the results. The American electorate has changed. The younger voters want more government.

Hopefully, after they see what they get for four more years, the electorate will move back towards sanity. But Europe hasn't. I don't think the US ever will.

Another thing I forgot to mention, the American electorare doesn't care about Benghazi or Fast and Furious. When Obama committed treason over an open mic the electorate forgave him the next day, when he tapped the mic and quipped, "is this thing on?" End of story. The American electorate forgave Obama for Benghazi when Chris Christie hugged him. End of story. That's how much they care about those things. They want free birth control and Obama phones.

Frankly, beyond INGO I have never heard a peep about Gary Johnson. I kept that to myself to save me from some Libertarian flamin'...but I really don't care anymore.

I voted Johnson as well. I can't give way to a flip-flopper of Romney's magnitude. Ill sleep just fine because of my decision. What a terrible R-candidate.

Many do care about Benghazi and Fast and Furious.

Lets be rational though - when a natural disaster of epic proportions strikes our nation, effecting millions of people - that becomes the main news story for a reason.

Four people died in the Benghazi attack, and it was a tragedy - however we still have no idea how many people are dead in the wake of Sandy.

When someone who campaigns so bitterly against the incumbent President is able to work with the same administration he disagrees with to get aid to his constituents as fast as possible - that is not a bad thing. That is seriously one of those extremely rare times that we can look at our government and say "wow, hey look - they are actually not acting like jackasses!".

It is not that Sandy made anyone "forgive" Obama for anything - it just gave his approval rating a bump because he actually acted in a bipartisan fashion in a time of crisis. Those that are mad at Christie for showing some leadership and acting during a crisis - or anyone that is upset that Obama cut through all the FEMA garbage to dispatch aid quicker - IMO, have their hearts in the wrong place.

    To All,

The only wasted vote is the one that is uncast.

The best vote is one for someone/something you truly believe in.

    Regards,

    Doug
