Ya know, that sounds like fun. I'm laid-off so I can make it anytime! I have a friend that would come with me also! I'm in and I'll be there! And I'll carry my Colt Double Eagle 10mm (The biggest sidearm I have)

i'll show em my LTCH, but after that they get to see my silent face.

If the cop is a nice guy I don't mind talking gun's or whatever.

Maybe I have had to many good incounter's with cop's. Most that I have known or know I think could care less about what you are doing unless it involves drug's or something.

My last fun car was so loud it shook the house at idle, one of my parent's neighbor's is a cop (sgt if I remember) and he told me as long as I am not doing anything stupid like reving it up at night he could care less....... I had to problem with that at all......... and it was loud enough idling that the last owner got a few noise polution ticket's.........

Around here most cop's are not out to get people.

I try and give them the benifet of the doubt and so far it has paid off for me more then once..... pretty sure it kept me out of jail once and let me keep my car and DL.

I'd be interested in a walk or meet-and-greet. Ft Wayne's an easy 2 hour drive straight east on 30 for me, and I wouldn't mind spending some time back in the city. Saturday 3/27 and 4/3/10 after ~4pm CST would work best for me, or Sunday 3/28/10 and 4/3/10 earler in the day work for me as well. Not a demand just an offer of availability due to 6 day work-weeks and school as well.

Blue, if you have a couple of people that want to go and shoot, I am a member out at the Farmland Conservation Club in Farmland, Indiana and would be glad to work out a time to host you for the day there. They have a very nice outdoor pistol and rifle range (out to 300 yds.). Let me know if you would like to work something out.

Of course, you are still welcome to come up and join us for any meet-up in Ft Wayne, too.

Yeah that would be really fun!:D I will ask some people who might be interested to come with me. My sister's boyfriend and my girlfriend and her brother would love to come. I will also see about having my uncle come too, he's been wanting to try out one of his AR15's that he just recently built. I'll get back to you on that for sure!:)

and yeah if Ft Wayne wasn't an hour's drive from me, I would most definitely go.:patriot:

Do you want like a casual diner? We have cheddars casual cafe by the mall good food decent prices as well. There are a chain of Don Hall's which is a local thing. Im tryin to think of places that arent in indy.

If you could let me know on what type of dining indy folks would like I will take the lead on calling local places and gettin it put together.

FYI the 31st is a wednesday
I met with a few guys from another forum at Don Halls, before the gun show. I was the only one in the group that OC'd but we had Don Halls' permission to carry.

Ok I don't know the laws or rules about it but what about a walk through glenbrook mall before diner just a open walk not a huge group, but if enough people show it will be noticed say a hour before meeting at a restrant

We may want to take a moment to do some legal research before we do an event, even such a silent, peaceful one as strolling around OC'ing before dinner at Glenbrook.

JohnP82 and T-rav were telling me about the Utah carry class they took; the instructor reported that *technically* if the government leases any space within a building, the entire building is *technically* off-limits for carrying. So... since there is a post office in Glenbrook.

Now, me telling you all this is third-hand info - "these guys told me that this guy told them yada yada." So like I say, we should do some research before having an event there. I mean, I carry at the mall every time I go, sometimes OC, but having a group of us there may draw more attention (which *is* the point, I believe) and end up with us being asked to leave before we get to finish our supper.

Last time I OC'ed in the mall, a security guard asked me to cover it because management perfered it that way.

That is correct as far as us being told that during the class. I have carried everytime I went to Glenbrook mall before that class. I always CC though so nobody has ever said anything. After hearing about this grey area of the law during the class I have been debating going back.

i never open carry in the greenwood mall but i always CC. a friend of mine had a super trooper from GPD jump all over him for OC. im not going in that place without a weapon so I dont take the chance of them seeing it, its one of the only places I CC.
I know the criminals got theirs so i always got mine to even the playing field and maybe even tip it in my favor.

Like mk2ja said above, this is what I was told during a class. Part of that class was handgun laws and that is what was said. I just didnt want this thread to turn into a debate about this topic in particular. I am sure many will disagree with that info.

Right. I just wanted to bring it up since it was mentioned by a reputable instructor and we'd really want to be sure we look into it before making the mall our meeting point for an OC event.

Glenbrook is where I had a bad experience OC. IDIOTS. I was swarmed by ~3 LEO and ~10 mall-goons when I OC...all of which were morbidly obese and grinning like they won the lottery. I would WELCOME with open arms an OC event there. The LEO sergeant I talked to primarily during the incident called me an "idiot" for OC and said I "should know better" and that "OC is illegal in Indiana---don't you know your permit says 'concealed'?" As they escorted me to my vehicle the mall manager advised me it is against "mall policy" to have a weapon. As far as the legality of carrying in Glenbrook---I was not arrested nor advised it was illegal to carry, only that it is against "mall policy". I am free the next two weekends to do such a walk, and I believe that there is potential for a large amount of exposure. After all, I had all eyes on me in my situation and I am just one man. :)

There's only ONE entrance at Glenbrook where it is posted. The main one facing Coliseum Blvd. No other door has any signs about it.
