If it did happen, sorry about your experience with those firefighters but most of us as has already been post could care less that you were carrying.

No need to be rude about it. Even if you don't believe his story, I don't think he ever claimed that any other or all firefighters would care if someone was carrying. Why be so hostile about it?

After reading through this entire thread (minutes wasted from my life as others) I think this post needs some details or it should just be dismissed.

Maybe the OP just doesnt like FF's. Without further details, we should all go read another more productive thread.

My two cents is that a couple of INGO firefighters (we have quite a few) got together and hatched this plan up, because they were jealous of the Politics section getting taken over by Police stories. They've probably been doing it for a while, just hoping to confront an INGO member so he would tell us all how the firefighters accosted him.

How about gun dealers? I'm sure we've all got some classic gun show stories. I've seen and talked to some big time weirdos and ***holes at gun shows. I'm willing to bet that if we took a peak into any profession, we could find plenty of power tripping idiots.

I have been asked if I have a license from managers, security guards, and average joes. It is people's attitude toward individuals that carry for personal protection. The section deals with those attitudes from people from all walks of life. This should show us that we still have a lot of work to do to help people understand that a person can carry and be no threat to them.

I went back and read your original post. Seemed to me that your whole point in posting was to say that these were firefighters who asked to see your license, your thread title pretty much proves that.

I still want to know what department this was so that I can know what colleagues of mine are making all of us in this profession look bad.
