The main guy really bothers me, I hope he dies soon like stupid people should. But he won't, my guess is some good people will die because he lost his nuts. He made that spiel about how he feels about guns after seeing 2 zombies killed, one was trying to kill him in his living room.

Interesting note: why didn't they tell the national guard about the body?

It will be interesting to see how the military / police get over run. Hard to believe, at what point are they going to inform the soldiers "headshot"

Travis doesn't bother me - yet. He is a "normal" California citizen who is being pushed to rapidly adapt to a new way of thinking. Heck, even Rick who used a gun everyday didn't go full Rambo for many years. How he dealt with the Governor then is WAY different than how he'd deal with the Governor today.

As to the bodies, I don't see most anyone wanting to step forward and admit to murder, even if it was allegedly self-defense. Only Nick (druggie) has the idea that these people are actually dead, and even he doesn't have proof. So as far as anyone knows these people are just really, really sick. Killing a sick person could still get you into a lot of hot water with the authorities. We know there won't BE any authorities, but for those living through it they are presuming, and want to believe, order will be restored.

I see the military getting overrun fairly easily. First, unless the military is loaded with sociopaths (which it isn't) NO soldier is going to be without hesitation when ordered to fire on American citizens - even rioters. When they do open up on the rioters most kill shots will not be head shots. So, a massive crowd goes down. Yay. Pregnant pause, then the massive crowd gets back up! Soon the soldiers are in close quarters and simply overrun OR they flee an untenable position. Either way the city will be lost.

    Regards,

    Doug

I agree with libertarian here.....It would not have been very authentic for a California, NEA Union member Teacher to NOT be anti gun...I almost hurled when when the Salvadoran closed that fine over under by slamming it shut one handed but then again I used to throw up whenever Hutch would throw his Python on the ground when the bad guy had the drop on him and said, "DROP IT!!!!"

I am starting to think that they (or at least the wife) may be mild preppers (maybe earthquake preppers???) because of something the Deadwood Hooker said to the young kid..."Do you want to take some of this food?" (referring to the school cafeteria food) and she answered "We have plenty of food." and the way they keep referring to "Heading East" or "Going to the desert"....The wife and I have a bug out house/weekend country home, or whatever term you want to use to describe what we have...When we are going there we talk like they do...."Are we going to the country?" or sometimes "Are you ready to head west?"...It makes me think they have a small camp or cabin outside of LA and that will be where they are trying to get to...When the say "Going to the desert" and no one acts like it's any big deal it makes me think they are referring to a place/home/camp/cabin they have in the desert...I do not think they will have much in the way of firearms but if she had this place from her previous marriage her deceased husband may have had one or two firearms there....

It's seems that her and her two kids know about this place and see it as a shelter from the rat race.....Travis may have been with them there a couple of times since they began dating...

I love this show and the pace it's maintaining.....

The fact that "Travis" represents a typical California resident actually irritates me more, rather than excuses him in my book. I lived out there for four, long, horrible years. I know those people and I don't like them. They have no respect for individual rights, nor do they allow people to think or speak any thoughts that are not on their approved list. In my experience, socialist-statist Californians are the most intolerant people I have ever encountered.

I know "those" people as well...I feel your pain....What's funny is???? I married one....:)

The good news is that although she was born in Hollywood (seriously that is on her birth certificate) she moved here when she was 17 and fell in love with it...She never could understand how an LA girl could feel so closely connected to Kentuckiana until she went to Argentina and for the first time went to the rural part of Cordoba that her dad grew up in...She sent me a pic and it was all corn fields, cattle, and horses...

    "Married an LA Darling and
Brought her to this small town
Now she's small town, just like me."

Ah! She was born there, but her genes and nature said otherwise!

my thought is because they were taking anyone who might have had exposure, like Sally's husband. To admit there is a body buried there shows that some of them have been exposed, and away they go.

All I can tell you Mike is that he has seen some serious $&^% go down...That was one ugly civil war...I liked his line when he saw the Guard spray painting the house with the number of dead..."It's too late" was all he said....

those are just 'universal' search and rescue markings, and he was just filling in the 'team' part, but just the presence of those markings is a sign of mass issues, and a large reaction/containment force has been called in.

I happen to know that Elmer Fudd's side by side shotgun could and was racked in numerous scenes....Maybe he has got a scarce Perrazzi or Beretta Fudd model????
Ahh, yes, but it isn't California legal, too high (never ending) capacity....and I think California has some silly law about owning a shotgun thats barrel can be tied in a knot.

If that's the case, I'd like to ask him what model over/under allows you to rack the slide like a pump.

Kind of like the first Walking Dead episode when Rick told the rookie to take off the safety when they were setting up the roadblock. Kid holds up a Glock and makes the motion with his thumb like taking the safety off of a 1911... I caught it right away and moaned out loud when I saw it. I said right away they needed a firearms consultant. Wish I was it, that would be a cool job... plus you probably get to be a zombie extra in scenes too.
