Posting should not give a pass on paying your fair share.

I recognize that not everyone can donate or wants to donate, though, and I'm perfectly OK with that. I just expect them to participate and support the board in other ways. Share their wisdom, insight, humor, opinions, etc. Those things are easily worth $10 to me. Those are the people with whom I want to do business. People of character who care enough about INGO to help make it the great forum that it is. Not leeches who are just here to make a quick buck or snag a good deal.

Most of these people who are unwilling to donate $10 to keep the site up and running spend thousands of dollars on firearm and other toys for their own pleasure. I personally do not believe that people who make money buying, selling and trading in the classified section should think because they post opinions, information, etc. to other members gets them a pass on paying their way. :twocents:

I agree if you spend thousands of dollars on firearms on here you have plenty of money. Or if you make money on here you obvisouly are profiting. Not sure why you should be able to do that. Although.....It is still free. You still have a right to do that for free. And I dont have a problem with that. I don't do either. I either trade or sell for way under what I purchased something for. So I wouldn't know about any of that.

Seriously, I mean really seriously. Wow. I can't believe I am even responding to this. This is a forum.....a hobby....something to do for fun. And you compare it to that. Wow. Maybe it is time for me to move on, if many more have lost touch with reality this much. FYI. This is not life or death on here. We talk to each other and put funny little pictures on our threads. Like this. :moon:

Yeah this is just the internet for all we know he is a 12 yr old girl(kinda acts like it) Why would anybody be a decent upstanding person on the internet.

This is a forum.......a hobby......something to do for fun. And it is all free!!!! Why would anybody care to support it so it last???

I love all the socialist propaganda slinging with people deciding what other people can aford or should spend and who they should spend it with.

No wonder the country is in the dumper when this is what is called the "right wingers".

    This.

Personally, I find the elitist attitude a little irritating. If you aren't a site supporter, you must not be as cool as everyone who is?

I don't understand the whole cost issue. Another board I used to frequent never asked members for a penny, and they have over 100,000 members.

    I just read this thread.

I've read posts by glock lover and rookie. Posts that I've enjoyed and learned something from - particularly HK info imparted by rookie. I hope you continue to post.

I made a personal decision to contribute. I enjoy this site. I spend too much time here. I've upsized/downsized and shifted my firearms MUCH easier as a result of this site and being able to meet folks locally.

I look at it like this analogy:

Fenway invites folks over for an outdoor BBQ. Says he's making brats and pork steak. He bought the stuff out of his pocket. Everyone's welcome, unless you behave like a jerk.

Me? If I'm coming, I'm gonna bring some beer... ask if he needs a side dish? Come on, man? Plates? Potato salad?

If only a couple of guys are coming, then he might refuse help. If 30 folks show up, he'll probably graciously accept the assistance. He didn't make "bring food" a requirement for attendance. The only requirement was the fellowship.

Me? I'm not gonna look down on someone who forgot/couldn't afford/whatever to bring food. I'll give 'em a beer.

For the life of me though, I'll never understand the guests who agree to come, stay for hours, eat & drink and specifically refuse to kick in solely because they disagree with the host or party atmosphere.
