I use Eezox gun oil. When it dries it leaves a protective barrier on the knife. I use it after every time I use my knife. I used to use Rem oil and it worked well too.

Have you tried a dry lubricant? I use super quick clean guns on my ESEEs and haven't had any rusting issues.

I use it on my guns too, same deal.

Requires living up after every signal use?

I usually strop mine on my pant leg to make sure its dry after I use it. If it is getting rusty I just use the "look honey my damn knife is rusting away from lack of use... I'm headed out to play" :) and a tuff cloth now and then :)

I do NOT recommend using wd40. ( Sorry Dave ) Use rem oil or Tuf Glide or Tuf Cloth which is a dry film rust inhibitor.

Nothing to be sorry about. If anything the people with the most knives should know best, and whats best for your products. But could you explain why not to use it and why the ones you recommended are better. I'm always up for something if it's beter than what i'm using.

    Thanks

It won't hurt anything to use WD40, but there are much better products like the ones that have been mentioned in this thread. All I can tell you is I have never seen a knife manufacture recommend using WD40 and a lot of the products mention in this thread are highly recommended by the manufactures. WD40 is a thicker lube and has been known to gum up a bit. The teflon based lubes are much thinner, and with teflon, it's a great moisture dispersant/displacer.:twocents:
