I was in the trades - IBEW 134, and IBEW 21 for close to 30 years. In my observation, about 10% of the workforce in construction trades are useless. The only recourse: send them back to the hall for some other unsuspecting contractor to draw from. I ran crews where I would call the office and tell them to get rid of the guy on my job. He would inevitably turn up again down the road on another call out from the hall.

Now, let’s switch to IBEW 21 Ameritech/SBC/at&t. Close to 30% were dead weight. I saw a guy get fired for surfing porn on his company laptop, get his job back, because they could not prove that he was actually in control of his laptop at the time the company spy software flagged the action. Mind you, laptops have AD and password complexity requirements. I have several equally ridiculous situations where people got their jobs back after getting fired.

I am on a withdrawal, and been on the sales engineering and sales side for about 9 or so years now.

    Just my experience.

Not once did I call you a communist, not sure how you guys do that stuff, it rains and you don't get paid.
I called him(well not him specifically) a communist and I should apologize for that. But communists were the instigators of unions at their beginnings and they were not doing it simply to benefit the workers. They wanted to take over the country.

Go sign up as a greeter and find out. :p
You forget my girl was a People Lead ( HR )
At Muncie North for a few years.
A few people here know her.
I'm well aware of what the Waltons give and don't give it's Management and it's associates.
I not a smart man, but I can do simple math. I'll take my Union pay & benefits over what the Waltons give.

Truck drivers do quite a bit better than avg associates. Mgrs can make more depending on the store and their abilities. I've had opportunity at union trucking jobs but just can't bring myself to screw the rest of society by driving up the cost of goods and services to benefit myself. Sounds too much like government fiscal policy.
