Dry Practice Observations 2018

Got the live practice in. I had to pause a couple of times for rain showers.
It was a good session. The groups are getting smaller. Weak hand is still iffy but I'm not messing with 7 yards anymore. The issues arent evident until 12 Thats where I'll start next week.
I worked on a bunch of different movement drills at different distances.

This is easier in the evening than at 5 am.

Really I didn't need to do any dry work tonight because I got some new gear today and we all know that beats training any day, but I did some anyway.

I slept in this morning till 5:45 am so I had to do this after school today. Speaking of school my classes did better on the first reading quiz than any group I have ever had. I am currently having the best year of my life and I think I might have the best school year ever. I hate to get my hopes up because that is how you are disappointed. But there may be hope for the Republic.

25 concealed draws from 7 yards par time 1 second. Pressed the trigger on the A zone under a second on all of them. My belt was black before this exercise and after this exercise. Nothing seems different to me.

Need to load ammo.

Match tomorrow WVPPS. This will be my first back to back club matches of the year.

I strapped the carry gun back on and did some draws at 7 yards.
I'm not a black belt as I suspected but I was able to make about half the 15 reps at a one second par.
Reaction to the beep is the key to my making it or not.

One thing that is tough about USPSA is that there are so many aspects about it that make it tough. Glad you had a good match.

Second place in Limited yesterday which was a little surprising because of the lack of shooting on the move I did on stage 5. Some of the rest was solid. One little tiny failure to feed on the second stage. Stopped using that mag.

Those little gun things are the most frustrating.
The match results were odd this month. I finished ahead of some people that have grown weary of kicking my ass and I finished behind a few that must be practicing a bunch.
I went into this match with the goal of staying in match mode and not slipping into bullseye mode.
My times were better, the points suffered some and I had a Mike that I didn't make up. That last one is aggravating.

Ya, I don't want to seem like I am whining I actually had a very good match. That is one area that I should have done better on.

You might be right. My other bad stage at the match was the classifier. I shot it fine but my reloads sucked. As much as I work those in dry fire they should have been better. I guess I will double down in dry fire, and start working reloads in live fire. Only shot just over a 70% on the classifier. I won't make A this season at that rate.
