I have noticed alot of people here have pitbulls, rotties, gsd's.....and several of the other "aggressive chewing" breeds.

My question is what do you let your dogs chew on?? :dunno:

We have tried everything locally available, and nothing last for more than a couple days. Most things only make it a couple hours, if that.

I do not, and will not do rawhide, and I can't stand the smell of the bullysticks...plus, you know what those are right???

We have tried the firehose toys, almost everything Kong makes, the everlasting treat balls, the west paw designs zogoflex toys, ropes.

My pit doesnt like to chew bones or synthetic bones (nylabone) very much. He loves the firehose toys, but man...they make a mess. And the rubber toys are great, but they all end up the same....little tiny pieces-EVERYWHERE!

We just ordered a Goughnuts Black, and they are lifetime guaranteed. Hopefully it works out....

    Any other suggestions?

    Not steel belted radial tires.

Pneumatic castor tires, and go-kart tires, and lawn mower tires. Stuff like that.

They're vulcanized to be much harder and stronger than the soft rubber in chew toys.

We havn't found a rubber toy that isn't turned into small peices of trash by the next morning. Our Rott loves ropes. The bigger ones are 1-1.5" dia and ours is around 3ft long with large knots every foot or so. She has the ability to destroy it, she just doesn't for some reason. We've had this rope since last Christmas (she gets a new one each yr). She chews the heck out of it, it's a tug-o-war toy, she even sleeps with the darn thing. Around this time each year is does finally start to show it's wear, and when it does, then she starts picking the thing apart. When she finally gets to that point, we have to be careful because some longer strands of thread will start to come out and she'll try to eat those. Other than that, we've had some great luck with the ropes.

We were having luck with the black Kongs, but now he can destroy one in about 30 minutes! The large hambones or raw beef bones seem to last awhile, but he doesn't get to have them in the house.

Just a quick FYI: ALL Kong toys are guaranteed for life. If your dog tears one up, just take the hunk of plastic or rubber back to the store give it to the cashier and go get one new one off the shelf. I don't know how many times my wife has done this.

I guess that works... usually wasnt anything left of them after my dogs were done.

If there is something more indestructible than the kong toys, I have yet to see it.

I've trained my GSD to not chew. Whenever he chews on something, it's either at my feet (trying to get better leverage) or directly behind the couch, which hearing it is equally as annoying. Weather permitting, my dog sprints about 5 miles a day (via fetch with a tennis ball and racket) and that keeps him calm and obedient.

we did that with the first one, and were told we could only get it replaced once. i won't get them anymore anyway, he probably swallows more of it than he should!
