I use wd40 as well, does a decent job as a cleaner, remoil and alittle moly for lube.Mobil 1, synthetic differential grease, ATF and WD40.
(Before anyone goes all spastic about using WD40 on firearms, please note that I do not use it as a lubricant.)
Been thinking about using Frog Lube
Yep, we did too. At one time, I'll bet there wasn't a single home in your neighborhood that didn't have a can of "3-in-1" sitting around in it somehwere.
And it'll still work just fine, even though we're all way too cool and sophisticated to use it anymore
Automotive oils are designed to draw moisture to it! Never use anything on your gun that is not specific to guns and says gun oil on it!
I have been using frog lube all this year. Works great and really does help out a LOT on the cleaning. The smell is also so much greater. I still love the smell of Hoppes 9, but it can get overpowering quick, but Frog Lube works amazing. I used it on a couple firearms first, but now, its on all my firearms, and all I use for my personal weapons. I still have some old CLP that I used when cleaning others. If you need some info on Frog Lube, PM me and I can try to send you some links.
Does grease draw moisture as well?
Glad someone has an opinion about this stuff. I saw a Gunsite vid on youtube about it and it made me curious.
