When Obama went into office 3&1/2 years ago, people were saying that there would be gun bans. I remember going to the Indy 1500 right after he went into office. Many were in a buying frenzy. It's amazing what speculation can do.
It's all irrelevant because the world is ending in December of 2012. At least that's what one of my "friends" told me.
Do you think there will be an "Assault Rifles" ban or not...
I'm more worried about a re-elected BHO appointing more liberal SCOTUS judges, creating a liberal majority, therefore redefining the 2nd amendment as they deem fit.
I know I need to refresh my tin foil with thicker restaurant grade but.
I can easily see if Obama gets re-elected (by hook or crook), he would try an end around play with an Executive Order AWB, which would be met with cheers from the far left.
I just hope and pray he doesn't get re-elected by the insane far left wing of America.
This is word for word the same speculation that was happening in 2008. There are plenty of posts here and elsewhere, some from the same people current spreading gloom, that predicted everything from ammo serial numbering to outright bans and confiscations.
Obama walked into office with a majority in both houses and the biggest wave of popular support since Bush on September 12th. Not only were firearms rights not further restricted, they were expanded. The Brady campaign gave Obama an F. “In just one year, Barack Obama has signed into law more repeals of federal gun policies than in President George W. Bush’s eight years in office" is a direct quote from them.
Compared to some perfect 2nd Amendment candidate, of course Obama isn't great. But I can say that the reality of the legislation he has signed contrasts sharply with the speculation over what his public remarks have meant. And I'll take reality every time.
It isn't like the guy has not had opportunities. A Congresswoman from his party was shot in the head. He had the Wong shootings before that. And two mass shootings in an election year. If there were some political capital to be collected by proposing new restrictions he'd be all over it, right now. Of course that says more about public sentiment than Obama, but it isn't like that would be different we're Romney in the White House.
A gun ban, [any gun ban], will not matter if the Dept. of Homeland Security buys up all of the ammunition.
