You can use your muzzleloader during firearms season as long as you have a firearms license. But you must also have a muzzleloader license if you hunt with the muzzleloader during muzzleloader season.

This is also how I understand it. You have to have the appropriate license , but you should be able use a muzzleloader during regular firearms season if you have a regular deer firearms license. (a.k.a. the muzzleloader license does not get you into both hunts)

MZ (and other equipment) used to be tag specific for gun season. But if you didn't fill your MZ tag during firearms it would carry over to the later primitive season.
    That changed long ago.

Now our firearms season is "consolidated". To hunt the late MZ season, you have to buy an MZ tag (if not using bonus).

Heck, way back I remember buying a shotgun tag and a handgun tag.............all for a chance at a buck during gun season.

Go back even further and there was a one-deer bag regardless of weapon. I didn't buy a firearm tag until firearm season because it was worthless if you killed a deer with bow during early bow season.

I only go far enough back to one buck, bow or gun.
Miss standing in line for extra doe tags...... I like hanging out at deer check ins, and also miss the early morning lines for dove spots. Was fun telling stories, meeting old crusties. But then I grew up shooting with older folks.
