Sending mine out today, local PD said it could take as long as 8-10 weeks but that it could be quicker based on what they've heard.

Applied for my lifetime permit on 6-16-09 and received it on 7-21-09. So just over a month for me, not too bad.

Marion county, just applied today, the lady told me 10-12 weeks. I hope its quicker.

Just got it in the mail yesterday. Exactly 3 weeks.
Was told 8-12 weeks. One note. I did have the 4 year permit and about 6 years ago I was in Florida and went to a gun range. They rented guns for the range. I showed him my permit and he was not impressed. Just laser printed on pink paper? He showed me the Florida version which looked like a drivers license. Theirs also serves as a photo ID.
I was surprised to see the lifetime license is still just printed on pink paper!?!

I was shoked - mine only took 2 weeks. I just moved here from Illinois - went to the Lake Co Sherriff in Crown point. I did recently purchase in Illinois, so the recent background was out there - don't know if that mattered - I was told 10-12 weeks....go figure

mailed my life time in on 7-23, the permit showed up 8-4.

I actually just applied for my lifetime permit today (my current permit expires 2/1/2010). They told me they were taking 6 weeks as of right now.
