Has anyone here recently applied for the lifetime license? How long did it take to get yours? I'm curious to know how long the current wait is because I was told 4-8 weeks, but then I read that it was 12-14.

I was told it would be 8-10 weeks.
But have spoke to people that got theirs in 6 weeks.
I sent my application in on 09/04/2008.
I will advise of time taken to get my permit.:)

Yaaaaay! Got my lifetime yesterday! Mailed August 10th. Now I'm afraid to get it laminated and watch it go up in a puff of smoke or something.

Just called the ISP Firearms division. LTCH was issued on the 1st, sent out on the 2nd so it should be here soon, maybe even today (advantage of living in the State capital).

Unless I have a rude surprise awaiting me when I get home from work, I got mine today. At least my son emailed me and said it looks like I got it.

I started the process at the Plainfield PD on Friday August 22. So that would be six weeks to the day.

If I got some kind of question instead of a license, I'll be embarrassed. I'm not anticipating any problems.

I carried openly a few times in the 80s, and never got hassled about it. In fact, in line at a local Waffle House waiting to pay. the officer in line behind me asked if my 1911 was a Colt. This was, in fact, how I found out that I was "carrying openly." My shirt had crept up in back exposing my MOB holster.

I'm starting to get worried that I screwed something up with my submission. Sent it Aug. 22nd and still nothing. Is there any method of checking? If they cash the money order, is it good to go?
