I don't know whether the events in the story indicate just how vulnerable an open society is or whether it describes how a foreign entity might attack us.

This is not to the poster, but a question to all.

Just why why is it that literally 100% of doomsday predictions in my life have been way overblown? Global cooling, global warming, and there are others not coming to mind at the moment. All had a commonality, they wanted the people to give up freedom for security. I put no stock in any doomsday predictions no matter the lauded educational achievements of the predictors.

I think people all over this city, of every background, would like to have the city government be able to determine which building goes where, how high it will be, who gets to live in it, what the rent will be. If you're doing it right, you don't need to run. Go up a stair case and burn it behind you. You just need to last for 1, or maybe 2, years until they decompose enough to become mechanically immobile.

Depends on which WWZ zombies: book or movie. The book zombies were very slow and able to be single-shot from a colonial-style firing line. The movie zombies were more reminiscent of the 28 days/weeks universe, where they were very fast.

Personally, when this thing mutates and we start getting them, I’m hoping for the slow version.
