"Some at Wednesday's rally held signs urging lawmakers to retire or be voted out of office. Others wanted to repeal property taxes or stop what they considered eminent domain abuse. Other signs supported a state immigration law and a revolt against socialism."

That would have been OUR sign that you guys had printed! :rockwoot:

In the video they had, first, the guy with the "Taxpayers Aren't Stupid" sign was right in front of us, Jim said lawmakers weren't there listening (which was half true) but there were some coming and going on the second level. I saw two pointing and laughing at some of the signs. :xmad:

Also, Jim made it sound like we were a whiny group of complainers. WAKE UP YOU FRIGGIN IDIOT! Whatever.

I saw 4 camera crews I expected to see more coverage than that. Then again there couldn't have been a couple hundred people there.

The Revolt at the State House would probably provide more dramatic results if it were held simultaneously (at night) at elected officials homes.

Thanks Pami, I just got home, stuck on I-70 for 2 hours :xmad:

ouch. I70 was blocked by the airport by some 100' wide load trailer.... :n00b: Didn't have to wait long.

What pisses me off though, Wish TV had a bigger piece about not smoking and smoking bans than they did about tax reform and the revolt at the State House!! Four Camera Crews and All I've seen was a 30 second spot on WishTV and no more than 4 paragraphs on both Wish and Fox websites!!!! GRRRRRRRR...... :xmad:

    In the trenches for liberty!
My daughter and I were there and we went to lunch at Santorini Greek Kitchen afterwards. Great company and better food:rockwoot:
I got to meet Prometheus, he saw my hat.
I think it is a start that several groups of different views came together for a common cause.

Where were you guys at? We were directly behind that guy with the Taxpayer's Aren't Stupid sign...

At the start we were directly behind the platform but my daughter is only 4' 11" and couldn't see so we stood directly behind the camera guy from Channel 6. Looking at the stage it would be on the right next to the column.

It sounds like that, based on the reactions of the people inside, it was a bit of a waste of time. What's the opinion of the people who assembled? Do you feel like your voice was heard?

    No. Not enough people.

It was STUPID that they did this at noon on a weekday. None of the people being complained about even bothered to show up. At least none that I recognized. I know a couple showed up on the second level and there was a few in the other Atrium on the second level but who knows who they were.

Not really a waste of time, but a good starting point. Start small, gain some attention, more will show over time.

I don't think it was a waste. It is a good start, like I said this is the first time all of these groups have came together. We know getting media coverage will be tough. It is obvious from the hack job Wish TV did that they feel the need to try to discourage us and diminish the voice of the people. That should make us resolve to come at them even harder.

They need to do this stuff off working hours. Sorry most of us who would love to come protest are busy trying desperately to make ends meet.

Sure weekends and evenings don't make the 6 o'clock b-roll but when you have 10 thousand people shouting you really don't need a TV to hear it.

Yeah, but then the state house would REALLY be empty of legislators!

Sacrifice comes in all forms, taking a day off of work is the least we can do. If you feel strongly enough to take action you won't let things get in the way of it.

Yes, but there are employers who would fire there employees if they called in and seen them protesting.

I'm not trying to make any excuses, but maybe that's why some could not come. Also, I know three people who cannot afford a day off from work as they are hurting financially the way it is. People who are with companies going through layoffs, still probationary employees, etc.

Standing up for your freedom is one thing, but would you risk losing your home all to miss one day of work? If I had a job, but not 4 kids, I wouldn't think twice. But...

Personally I think they should hold it from 3-7pm so that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift people all have the chance to come out and show their support. You catch legislators at the end of the day, and those who support the cause would most likely stay after hours to help with the rally or even give a nice speech and lend support.

But then again I'm just talking out my ass like usual. I'll just shut up now.
