Caldwell's coaching at the end of a "Perfect Season" and in the Super Bowl left a lot to be desired.
His decisions sealed his fate that season.

Detroit has glimpses of a very good team but just like Indy the STUPIDITY shows up on bushel baskets.
CP and Caldwell seem to be quality people.
Needing a good coach to get spoiled millionaire kids motivated looks like it requires a stiff kick in the seat of the pants.

See also: letting McAfee kick deep, and then the timeout called by Caldwell, at the end of the Jets playoff game in 2011. Utterly inexcusable, and cost Manning a playoff win.

He may have, but if so, he certainly wasn't given the chance to make the team his own. So we'll never know how Caldwell would've turned out. Pagano has certainly had more than enough time to flourish.
Agreed, but I think the Superbowl loss was Caldwell's undoing, not the 2-14 season. Pagano has been able to share blame with Grigson in the past, I think this is his last year to show that he knows what he's doing.

I'm still on the shaky fence as to wheter Pagano should be kept or let go. But, I think if he wants to keep his job and prove his ability he needs to look really hard really fast at bringing in some better coaching talent and let a couple people go. It is possible that some, not all of the problem is decisions and methods used by other coaches. Just as an example what are the guys in the booth seeing/telling him that influences his decisions on the field? As much as I can't stand Bellichik he has a no nonsense, get the job done or cut them loose mentality. I think CP is too much of a nice guy. As a head coach, he gets to take the blame whether it is decisions or another coaches or players who fail to get the job done. It all reflects on the head coach

There's a lot of new coaches on the team. I think 9? maybe
This season Pagano is on the hot seat. Plain and Simple.
Maybe I'm expecting too much out of the Colts?
9 new starters on defense. The two pro bowl starters from last year are injured. Butler and Davis are our talent back there.
New defensive coordinator, linebacker coach, backs and safety coach, defensive line coach.
NO LUCK, injuries to O line already.
Colts started a QB with 5 practices under his belt and hung in pretty close to the Cardinals.
Tolzien ain't gonna cut it in the NFL. Sorry, even a bottom dollar experienced back up can't lead a team.

Well I didn't realize they had so many new coaches. I had heard mention of some of the injuries, and I really don't think the Colts have any real "play makers" right now. I think the QB that played on Sun should get another chance but Tolzien needs to go and they need to find a suitable back up qb.
I can't claim to be a die hard fan. I support them as the hometown team. But I am a die hard Packers fan.

Today, that universal question that has been vexing mankind for all eternity will finally be settled:

Who sucks more. . . .the Browns or the Colts?

History may find I'm wrong but at this moment in time I believe the Colts will step up to accept that crown.:noway:

Browns are the favorite today. First time in a long time the visiting Browns are favored.
This isn't a new low for the Colts because they excel at underachieving.
Do any grocery stores still use "Paper Bags"???

Was it 2009 when the Colts rolled over on their backs and played dead in the last 2 games of their "perfect season"?

I think that was the beginning of the end. Karma has finally raised it's head and slapped them down for that insult to the fans who paid big bucks for tickets.

    **************

Hey...the Colts need a new stadium or they are going to leave town.

Is it possible to get group rates on Amtrack?

No. You don't want that. We are going to raise your taxes and give them every nickel of every event that utilizes that property.

That sounds like a great deal for the Colts. But, I don't like the Colts. I haven't liked them since Unitas was quarterback. And I hated Unitas. Why do I have to buy them a stadium?

    Because they'll leave town.

How about group bus passes? Take them to see Des Moines or something....

Can't do that. They have actual football players in Iowa.

Not a YUGE football fan but I'm guessing that the above translates to: They should have gotten rid of Pagano a long time ago?

I had a strong feeling that's where the thinking was heading.
I wanted to see who was the WORST Indy Colts head coach.
I've seen them all since they came to Indy.
I wasn't a Colts fan until about 2004 or so when Manning was in his prime. They could play some good football until Peyton went down.
