Refurbished another rusty Colt and replaced the broken grips with buffalo horn, this pistol is a Colt Pocket Hammer. Essentially a shortened Colt 1902 firing 38ACP, the Colt organization was looking for a more powerful, but "pocket sized" semi auto. Made from 1903 to 1927 it faded away like the 1902. Not as handy as the popular 1903 Hammerless or as powerful as the 1911, production of both ceased before the 30s.

Very nice leadeye....Great job on the horn grips, beautiful swirls and color....What a neat piece of history....

BBI has got a fedora that would go great with that pistol....

I hate to say it but it kind of has a 1907 Steyr look about it...Very neat looking....

Very nice! I love the looks of those early autoloaders. My next door neighbor has a nickel plated 1908 in 38 ACP. Not too common a round.
