I'm still not sure how it ever passed the smell test TBH. Meritocracy is the only valid way of a company being successful and hiring based on stupid like skin color and gender are the opposite of that.

I think companies started to believe that woke is just what the world is now, and that they needed to embrace it if they were going to be successful. Not to mention, it helps if powerful people get woke people on the boards of important companies. Sounds like that's what happened with Budd Light.

I think that falls under DUH!

Amazing to me how corporations screaming about profit at all costs have somehow been duped into hiring people via the lens of DEI and supporting garbage that clearly isn't profitable for any but the elite pushing their scams.

I think at its roots it was kind of a kick in the pants to wake up. There were places that still hired basically all white guys. The issue became it flipped around to hire anyone but white guys. The best candidate is definitely the one that should be hired.

We had an uber-woke HR director for a little bit. She actually commemorated Floyd's death on one of our all company meetings. She also said we should be asking recruiters for diverse candidates when we were hiring. We never worry about what race or sex someone is when we are hiring. We care if they can do the job and fit in with the team. Thankfully she moved to another company that our overlords own soon after those speeches.

I think if it's AI, it's expensive AI. There are cheap AI generated videos all over the internet, and I'd say it's amazing that AI can fabricate even a poor quality video, which is obviously AI generated. But to see one this convincing is indeed scary!

What convinced me is I found what I think is the real video where they got that from. Whatever bbc show it was had her on as a guest, and of course they kissed her ass and asked softball questions. The video looks just the same as the "satire" video. Just different words coming out of her mouth. Same hand gestures.

In the satire video timing of her hand gestures seemed not quite sync'd with her speech. In the original video the timing was right. Also there were some glitches every now and a gain where her mouth seemed out of sync with what she said. But overall it was a very good fake video.
