Our side of the argument is that guns keep us safe. This situation seems way too fuzzy. I am waiting for the liberals to point to this and say, "see, this even happens to people who are trained with guns and guns were present yet he still died." I'm not one for all the conspiracy stuff, but with the way things are now, nothing seems true, from gov't, to reality TV, to NFL players having to go to sensitivity training for not agreeing with gays, to racking up 5 trillion is good for the economy, to biden admitting gun control wont prevent crimes yet our nation wants this? I mean, we are being told to that what we know is not right, and everything we believe is wrong. Its all real messed up.
Its Obama's beginning stages of socialism. It started with the Obama care, now they take away the guns, then it's the other freedoms...

    Rip Chris Kyle.

On a side note, I truly hope the blind will see that the common theme between these shootings lately seems to be directly related to mental illnesses.

So true. I just watched a FOX news program that I DVR'd over the weekend. A news show with Chris Wallace, whose guests were Mark Kelly (Gabby Giffords husband) and NRA's Wayne LaPierre.

According to LaPierre, the NRA has been trying to get computerized mental health records and have them entered into the NICS system since the late 80's early 90's...HOWEVER...lobbyists for folks like HIPPA, etc. have put a stop to it. When the gun debates start...all can agree that the bad guy is usually mentally challenged in some way, and, in most cases, has seen someone for their illness. Would it stop them from committing a heinous act? No, not always. It would, however, prevent them from LEGALLY purchasing a firearm.

Anyway, to put this thread back on track. I read an article that was posted this morning alluding to the fact that the shooter in the Kyle incident wanted his pickup truck. Sounds odd. I'm sure there's more to it (yes, other than the fact that the guy is mentally ill.)

Having never read the book, I just bought it. Its a good read, and I'm sadden by the event. A true American, who believed in hope and his brothers in arms.
