The slide show below is represented as evidence photos from a running gun-battle between drug cartels (with involvement from the Mexican authorities) that took place in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, in July of this year.

It has the air of authenticity, but I have heard that it has made the internet rounds previously, attributed to a different location (I was unable to find any evidence of this). Whatever the case, these photos are interesting in a number of different respects (tactics, equipment, terminal ballistics, "know the enemy," politics), but be forewarned, some of them are not for the faint of heart (or stomach).

    From the intro slide:

Purpose: Inform SWAT/RRT on potential cartel tactics and practices

    Setting the Stage:

    •Limited information available
•Rolling firefight over multiple locations, potentially 2-3 hrs
•Cartel-on-cartel fight with involvement from Mexican forces
•Post-event documentation photos from different locations

why doesn't the mexican gov't just cleen sweep the suspected cartel people anyway? its not like they have the laws or constitution like we do. its all about money anyway, I say just start killing the law breakers. put astronomical bounties on the bastards and let the people earn some money!

And we are delusional if we believe the cartels are not operating within our borders right now. This could happen in any number of American metropolitan centers. We need to be prepared as individuals to protect ourselves & our loved ones from these situations.

And I don't mean pull out your EDC, +1 mag [plus beater trunk gun] and try to fight your way through.

You will have to be prepared to evacuate the area, live to fight another day, and let the dirtbags kill each other off.

You guys know that this is less than credible, if not faked outright?

It's yet another cop shoppe huckster job done immediately before FY 2011, akin to the flashing headlights, full auto Glocks or cell phone guns. Hype in order to advocate increased budgets.

Obviously the photos are of a real event of some sort, someplace, and both the photos and the notes that accompany them do provide food for thought, regardless of their true origin.

What evidence can you provide to back up your assertion?

No, the photos are not real at all. Or, rather, they are real photos that the police threw in on the wrong case.

Akin to a drug case where they will throw in extra photos of guns and drugs which pertain to an entirely different case.

Prosecutor: *striking noble pose, hands on lapels* "Look at all those guns, and all that cocaine!"

Our beloved poster: "Ummm, this is a marijuana case. You guys never filed coke and the time stamp says that the photos of the guns and salt are from 2004."

the notes that accompany them do provide food for thought, regardless of their true origin.

Not if the entire report is in question.

How can one draw any worthwhile conclusion if the study is less than credible?

What evidence can you provide to back up your assertion?

The fact that October 1st is right around the corner. The fact that this "report" is going to used to fleece some taxpayer, mostly likely me since I pay for everything else.

Oh, yeah, and the fact that the cops are including phony pics in their report!:D
