I thought I heard a little twang in yall's words.
I live south of you guys, but not a hillbilly or redneck
I thought I heard a little twang in yall's words.
I'm thinking of buying a 4 inch or shorter barrel & have a gunsmith swap out the 8.5 inch barrel for the 4 inch !!!
I recently traded a fellow INGO member my 4" model 29 for his 8 3/8" model 29, his plan was to do exactly what you are planning, this trade seemed to make more sense. Unless you are planning other modifications the cost of the barrel and gunsmithing charges plus the cost of the gun, you could have bought a 4" to begin with. If you are set on changing from a 8.5" to a 4", I think it would be more cost effective to trade guns or sell your gun and buy a shorter one.
Shoot it before you try trading it .I was looking for a 4 inch 44 mag.The reason I bought this 8.5 inch barrel gun, is cause It's in excellent condition & the price was right.
Scope the 8 3/8" with an Aimpoint for target/hunting and get a 4" for iron sighted general duty.
