    Crutch, splint.

Or, if you have a 91/30, you could simply bayonet the guy on the other side of the river without leaving the comfort of your foxhole.

Took my M44 out today. As I was leaving, the guys in the pistol range said "Sounded like a cannon over there. That HAD to be a Mosin Nagant!." :):

So you guys have me convinced that I want a Mosin Nagant...though I'm afraid I'll be a bit sacrilegious if I do get one.

I'm a guy who likes a black stock on a rifle...

I love my nagant. First gun I shot thanks to smokingman. Now everything else seems like no recoil at all. I wear a PAST pad when I shoot it and now I can shoot it all day with no bruses. I can hold a very good pattern, it's super loud with a huge bang - and its cheap! One of my favorite guns :rockwoot:

BE CAREFUL. Some of the C&R forums will correct you. It's not a Nagant, it's a Mosin... (BTDT) :D

I own 2 and both had junk wood stocks. 1 is already outfitted and the other is awaiting its synthetic stock.

The original finish on the Nagant stock is shellac. There's no reason in the world (if you're not worried about "original" not to strip off any remaining shellac and paint the stock black.

    Problem solved.

    ;)
