If it was from reading the Internet, there will probably be more calls for more censorship on the Internet.

Nobody is trying to take your internet away. We just need common sense internet control.;)

It would be nice if the president took some time out of his schedule of (doing thing A or B)

I feel like I've seen this post before...

    Anyway

Police say the suspect in the Austin bombing attacks is dead

Austin police say the man suspected of several bombings in Austin died early Wednesday morning as officers attempted to arrest him.

Authorities tracked the man to a Round Rock-area hotel. One officer was injured after the suspect detonated his own bomb as authorities approached him in his vehicle.

"The suspect is deceased and has significant injuries from a blast that occurred," said Brian Manley, Austin's interim police chief.

So now an edgy few days to make sure there are no other explosives out there, or accomplices.

It is sad that people have died and we may not ever really understand the reason. I mean, hopefully there is a manifesto or notes or one of those walls of pictures with string going all over, but ... probably not.

Once dude actually sent them, and they got an unexploded one (maybe), that was an exponentially huge break in the case. Not to demean the (probably) solid police work involved, but it was dude's hubris that was his downfall. And that includes how he picked up the pace.

Now, part of the problem is that I'm sure others probably were watching the LE response....

Well...by banning gun related pages and other conservative pages, the folks at YouTube and twitter have already started doing their part.
The list of items that people want to ban is long and varying. At least in YouTubes case it isn't the actual .gov making it illegal to do so. That would be a whole new level. Whether it is guns, porn, how to make a bomb, or anything else. I can see it happening quickly though. Just like 3d printing of guns.

BTW, suspect is described as 24 year old white dude. That's old enough to have one contract in the military - maybe part of a second? A "person of interest" series of pics had been posted last night as the guy was delivering the packages to be sent. Looked to me like he was wearing gloves during the encounter.

Also, one report last night suggested that the first 2 bombs may have been delivered by private courier. Can't find that reporting now, though, so probably nothing.

    Not far from the tree
Speaking of mad bombers: Friday night explosion came from car in motel parking lot UPDATED MONDAY

This was in Nashville Indiana. (Thanks to patience0830 for the heads-up)

That's nine miles as the bird flies.

Second best part: Guy was in his car when it blew up, but "The man’s hat was burned to the ceiling, but he told police he could hear OK, and he didn’t have any serious injuries."

Best part: "After the explosion blew the windshield and windows out of his car, the driver left the lodge and drove west on State Road 46."

Hey 'Mo! You hear any more about this?

Yeah, I try to avoid using the name in situations like this. :) Not a big deal, though. Just part of my evolving approach to these matters.
